Abstract: Thailand, which is frequently regarded as a cultural forefront in Southeast Asia for LGBTQIA+ visibility, is a dilemma in which systemic exclusion and public acceptance coexist. Thailand's LGBTQIA+ culture is evident in public places, media, and travel, but political and legal inclusion are still elusive. According to academics like Jackson (2011) and Winter (2020), visibility without institutional changes runs the risk of strengthening stereotypes rather than benefiting under-represented communities. Through an examination of cultural inconsistencies, legislative loopholes, and the continuous initiatives of civil society, this research explores into Thailand's distinct role in LGBTQIA+ advocacy. The study concludes by emphasising the pressing need for legal protection and political representation in order to close the gap between visibility and true inclusion.

Abstract: This paper focuses on studying the relationship between Real GDP and the amount of money supply in the Libyan economy from 1980 to 2014. Modern econometric methods were used, and the study reached several conclusions. Among the main findings are the existence of a positive short-term effect between GDP and money supply, and a negative long-term effect between economic growth, represented by GDP, and money supply.

Abstract: As a cornerstone of traditional Chinese culture, The Analects embodies profound ecological philosophy. This paper examines the translation strategies employed by the renowned comparative philosopher Roger T. Ames from the perspective of eco-translatology. By analyzing the linguistic, communicative, and cultural dimensions of eco-translatology, the study reveals how Ames extensively uses verb and gerund structures while deliberately avoiding the application of conjunctions that indicate causality. This syntactic approach reconstructs the interpretive context of Confucian texts for Western readers, showcasing the Confucian worldview of "unceasing generativity" and the relational thinking of "all things bearing yin and embracing yang". This stands in contrast to the mechanistic causality and creationist cosmology of Western theology.

Abstract: This research sought to determine the influence of differentiation strategy on mortgage performance of banking institutions within the mortgage industry in Kenya as well as evaluating the moderating effect of bank size measured using total net asset base and branch network. About 83% of lending to the mortgage market was carried out by only 8 out of the 39 registered banks as at December 2022. The study was based on the theories of Porter’s Generic Strategies and Resource-Based View (RBV) of competitive advantage. The study selected a sample of 30 commercial banks was picked out of the entire accessible population of 39 banking institutions. Respondents from the institutions’ offices in the cities of Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, and Kisumu were administered with 5-point Likert-scale questionnaires. There were five respondents drawn from the mortgage experts in each bank making 150 respondents with a response rate of 78.7%, or 118 questionnaires being returned. The data gathered was presented using descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation, and frequencies to measure central tendency and dispersion. From the linear regression conducted differentiation strategy explained 12.2% of variation in mortgage performance of banking institutions within the mortgage industry in Kenya. Regression results indicated that differentiation strategy had statistically significant positive influence on mortgage performance. Bank size significantly moderated the relationship between differentiation and mortgage performance, although with a negative beta coefficient of -0.018, which implies that increase in bank size, leads to marginal reduction in mortgage performance whilst implementing differentiation strategy. These were justified by significant p-value that was less than 0.05. As a result, the study rejected the null hypotheses. The study recommends that banks should only adopt differentiation sparingly since it may not lead to improved performance owing to the price sensitivity of the mortgage market.

Abstract: Intisara A. Rabb wrote a book entitled, “Doubt in Islamic Law: A History of Legal Maxims, Interpretation, and Islamic Criminal Law”. This review essay will try to critically analyze Intisara A. Rabb’s book. After the 9/11 attack, Islam, as a religion, is under scrutiny. The Hudud laws in Islam are considered outdated and brutal for modern society by many Western scholars. Intisara A. Rabb’s book provides new insights into the legal maxims of Islam to remove prejudice regarding Islamic jurisprudence. Rabb shows how doubt canon indirectly was used in Islamic history for the proper and justified implementation of Islamic Laws. Intisara A. Rabb depicts some past events to show how Hudud Laws in Islam can be excused in the case of doubt. This article shows how Rabb’s book has relevance in the context of the 21st century when Muslim societies are evolving and subscribing to modern lifestyles. How can Islamic laws be still relevant in contemporary Muslim societies? Intisara A. Abstract: The sugar industry in Kenya has faced tough times recently. This has led to cut throat competition between the sugar firms and forced a rethink of strategy by the players to survive the tough times as each one is constantly in the race to better performance in the industry. This study sought to determine the influence of attention capability on the performance of sugar firms in Kenya. The study utilized a descriptive survey research design that incorporates quantitative and qualitative approaches. The target population for this study consisted of all management-level employees of the nine sugar firms in the western sugar belt. Using Yamane’s formula to determine the size of the sample, 204 respondents were sampled using random sampling from the population from which primary data was collected using questionnaires administered through drop and pick method. The collected data was coded and analyzed using quantitative methods with the help of descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of this study are useful to sugar companies as a guide in the formulation of strategies to enhance their market position and performance. The study is also useful to strategic management practitioners in the sugar industry in the formulation and implementation of strategies and plans to promote growth. The study also builds on existing knowledge in the area of strategic flexibility and therefore, is of benefit to scholars and researchers as it can be used to stimulate further research to develop a better understanding of assessment capability as a concept of strategic flexibility, its adoption and implementation. The study concludes that board composition has statistically and positive moderation on the relationship between attention capability and performance and hence is a good moderator for the relationship.

Abstract: The weight loss (gravimetric method) and potentiodynamic polarization (electrochemical method) techniques were used to measure the corrosion rates of mild steel in 1 M HCl in the presence of char extract made from Manihot esculenta peel (MECE) as an inhibitor. The outcome demonstrated that extract has inhibitory effects at all temperatures. Adsorption is the mechanism of inhibition, and the Langmuir isotherm best fits the data. Potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance were used to calculate the activation energies, enthalpies, entropies, and entropies of the dissolution process as well as the free energies for the adsorption process.  Important data regarding the inhibitory behavior of the char extract of Manihot esculenta peel was gathered using the basic thermodynamic functions.

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to establish the effect of financial risk management on performance of Commercial banks in Nakuru City, Kenya. The study was guided by the following specific objective; compliance risk management on performance of Commercial banks in Kenya. This study adopted a descriptive research design. This study targeted the Commercial banks in Nakuru city Kenya. The Credit managers of the banks were targeted. The study adopted census survey and therefore all the credit managers in Commercial banks in Nakuru City were studied. 33 Credit managers were targeted from 11 banks. Data collection instrument used was questionnaire and other information relevant to the study. A structured questionnaire was administered to the respondents. Piloting was done to determine if the full-scale study was conducted in the way that was planned and whether there were some components that needed to be changed. Once data was collected, it was crosschecked and verified for errors, completeness and consistency. It was coded, entered and analysed descriptively using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SSPS 28). Pearson correlation analysis was used to test the relationship between variables in the study hypotheses. ANOVA multiple linear regression analysis was also used to determine the statistical relationship between the independent variable and the dependent. The findings implied that banks may suffer as a result of its failure to comply with laws, regulations, rules, related self-regulatory standards, best business practices, internal policies and procedures and codes of conduct applicable to its banking activities and that the current global compliance risk regulatory framework can be summarized in one sentence: compliance function must be established to manage compliance risk. The findings also showed that it makes sense to assume that appropriately designed and implemented compliance management systems aimed at establishing compliance responsibilities, communicating those responsibilities to employees and stakeholders, ensuring that responsibilities for meeting legal requirements and internal policies are incorporated into business processes, should improve compliance. The finds further revealed that  compliance function should facilitate the implementation and maintenance of the compliance culture, arrange for or provide compliance framing, advise on regulatory matters, conduct monitoring, maintain line of communication with the regulator, handle regulatory issues, conduct reviews, provide reports and guidance to management, assist in identifying, assessing and managing regulatory risk. Through the findings, compliance measures that can address the priority compliance risks should be identified and the most suitable compliance measures selected based on an assessment of the costs and benefits of each measure and that banks conducting compliance work should consider adopting a risk-based approach as compliance management systems are sound and minimize excessive or serious future violations exposing the company to significant impairment of reputation, value, earnings, or business opportunity. Based on the findings, the study concluded that compliance has significant effect on Performance of Commercial Banks in Nakuru City County Kenya. β1=0.794, p value= 0.001). The relationship was considered significant since the p value 0.001 was less than the significant level of 0.05. The study came up with the following recommendations; the management of commercial banks should formulate a designed and implemented compliance management systems aimed at establishing compliance responsibilities, communicating those responsibilities to employees and stakeholders, ensuring that responsibilities for meeting legal requirements and internal policies should be incorporated into business processes to improve compliance.

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to establish the influence of strategic resource allocation on performance of level 4 hospitals in TransNzoia County, Kenya. The study was guided by the following specific objective; to determine the influence of strategic human resource allocation on performance of level 4 hospitals in TransNzoia County, Kenya. The study was guided by the following theories; Resource allocation theories. The study adopted a descriptive research design to establish the influence of resource allocation and performance of health facilities in TransNzoia County. The target population of the study was 65 senior managers which included public health directors, administrators, and program officers in the County Government of TransNzoia. This study was conducted TransNzoia County. The study adopted a Census since the target population is small. Data collection instrument was structured questionnaire.  Piloting was done for reliability and validity of the instrument. Data reduction and organization was done manually but analysis was done using statistical package for social science (SPSS).  The analysis was to determine percentages, averages, dispersion measures in the data collected and prepared. Multiple regression analysis and ANOVA was used to test the significance level of one variable over the other. Based on the findings, the study concluded that strategic human resource allocation has a significant effect on performance of level 4 hospitals in TransNzoia County β₁=0.767 p value= 0.004). The relationship was considered significant since the p value 0.004 was less than the significant level of 0.05. The study came up with the following recommendations; the management of level 4 hospital should be involved in engaging the human resources  since to compete successfully in this environment organizations continually need to improve their performance by reducing costs, innovating products and processes and improving quality, productivity and speed to market. The organisation should ensure that the right people are in the right roles at the right time, thereby optimizing productivity, fostering innovation, and supporting organizational growth. Firms which attract highly educated and/or highly skilled workers, provide skill-development and cross-training develop difficult to trade and imitate, scarce and appropriable specialized human capital assets.

Abstract: This research looked at the influence of resource allocation on the successful implementation of Telecom projects in Kenya. Many telecom operators worldwide are faced with the difficulty of determining the most effective way to carry out these projects as they upgrade their network technology in an effort to boost capacity and improve performance. Around the world, a lot of projects consistently fail, costing organizations millions of dollars. This study was conducted in an effort to pinpoint the influence of resource allocation on its implementation.  The theory of constraint and resource-based view theory guided this study. 36 respondents encompassing project managers, CEOs, and contractors within the Telecommunication industry in Kenya took part in this study. The research utilized both closed-ended and open-ended questionnaires, comprising two sections. SPSS was used to conduct a descriptive analysis of the four independent variables. The independent variables had a positive correlation with the implementation of Telecom projects. The study revealed resource allocation requires improvements. According to the study's findings, effectively allocating resources helps the project manager recognize issues, prevent overspending, and adjust to change by ensuring that the project has the required personnel, tools, funding, etc. as efficiently as feasible. According to the report, project managers need to make sure that the proper amount of team members are present at all times and understand that they must prevent both overstaffing and understaffing.

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to analyse the effect of entrepreneurial practices on performance of small and medium agro based youth enterprises in Kenya. The study was guided by the following specific objectives; to determine the effect of entrepreneurial financing practice on performance of small and medium agro based youth enterprises in Kenya. This study adopted descriptive research. The target population was small and medium agro based youth enterprises in TransNzoia County Kenya. Sixteen registered agro based youth SMEs in TransNzoia County comprising of 500 youths. The sample size for the study was 125 respondents through Yamane’s formula was adopted. The data collection instruments was structured questionnaires, both primary and secondary data was collected. Piloting was done to test the reliability and validity of the data collection instrument. The study adopted a descriptive statistics including frequencies and percentages. Inferential statistics including correlations and regression was employed. Entrepreneurial finance practice had a significant impact on the performance of small and medium agro based youth enterprises. The SMEs of Agro Based Youth enterprises should engage in sourcing of funds from donors, NGOs, financial lending institutions and agro-business funders and easily accesses various financial resources to invest in business for increased profits.

Abstract: Food insecurity remains a critical issue affecting vulnerable households across the globe, particularly those with financial constraints characterized by low incomes and unemployment. Vulnerable households employ several coping strategies that they use to navigate the challenges of food scarcity. This paper discusses the food coping strategies used by vulnerable households in Nakuru Town West Sub County to address food insecurity. The paper specifically probes how these coping strategies influence the performance of their parenting roles. The paper finally provides recommendations on how food coping strategies can be fostered to become sustainable while addressing the root causes of food insecurity.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of talent management strategies and employee performance in TransNzoia County government. The study was guided by four specific objectives that included: to examine the influence of talent attraction and employee performance in TransNzoia county, Kenya. The study was anchored on the expectancy theory. The study adopted correlational research design. The population of the study consisted of 1005 employees of TransNzoia County government. A stratified random sampling technique was adopted by the study to select a sample of one hundred and sixty three respondents to be drawn from the departmental heads and other senior officers within the sub-departments of the county. The study used structured Likert-scale questionnaires as instruments for collecting primary data. The study used descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze data. Inferential statistical analysis included multiple linear regression model that presented the relationship among variables. The findings of the study indicated that talent management strategies influenced employee performance in the county by; talent attraction (r=0.729, β=0.564, t=3.156). That the county selection and recruitment process was not free and fair but heavily based on nepotism and tribalism and that promotions were not conducted in a free and fair manner. The study recommendations included: The County to ensure that measures are put in place to create good organizational climate that attract the right talent where recruitment process is scientific. The findings of the study were significant to both the county leadership and of other counties in Kenya together with management of other different organizations in different sectors both private and public as well as adding to existing literature in the field of human resource management in general.

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of stakeholder participation on completion of health projects in Bungoma County, Kenya. The study was guided by the following specific objective; to determine the effect of project identification on completion of health projects in Bungoma County, Kenya. The study was underpinned by four theory including: organisational identification theory. Descriptive survey research design shall be suitable for this study as it shall help in collecting data that describe events and then organizes, tabulates, depicts, and describes the data that helped in answering research questions. The target population was 35 respondents from five healthcare projects undertaken Bungoma county. The data collection was questionnaire. The quantitative analysis of data was conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) to conduct regression analysis, descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The presentation of the results was then done using graphs and tables. According to the correlation analysis, all the independent variables had strong positive correlations with the dependent variable. The multiple regression model had a fairly strong relationship with the data associated with the variables indicating that it is a good predictive model. There is also a statistically significant relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The study revealed project identification had a significant effect to the completion of health projects in Bungoma County, Kenya. The study concluded that the identification of all key stakeholders in the setting of milestones during project implementation was critical towards the successful completion of health projects in Bungoma County. The study recommended that health institutions in Bungoma should consider strategic partnerships with both public sector and private sector players such as public private partnerships where innovative arrangements that hinge on payment for specialised service delivery such as the provision of specialised medical equipment can help to deal with the inability to fulfil pre-determined scope schedules. The institutions should also adopt risk prevention measures such as the promotion of transparency through the institutionalisation of a reporting culture, using clear communication channels to convey risk management measures, and the creation of standardised processes across the breadth of the organisations.

Abstract: Ricardo et al. (2022) noted that strategic management is undeniably essential for organizations to achieve a competitive edge and improve their performance. The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of strategic management practices on Performance of TransNzoia County. The study was guided by the following specific objective as; to explore the influence of strategic leadership practice on performance of TransNzoia County. The study used the following theories as goal setting theory, system theory, results based theory.  The study adopted a descriptive research design.  The target Population was all county directors from all the 13 departments in of TransNzoia county Data collection instrument was structured questionnaire. Both primary and secondary data was collected .The researcher self-dropped and pick the duly filled questionnaires. Piloting was done to test the validity and reliability of data collection instrument. Data was organised, coded, edited to bring a meaning.  Data was analysed and presented using the statistical package for social science SPSS version 24. Both descriptive and inferential statistics shall be done.  Multiple regression was done to test the significant levels of one variable over the other. Analysis of variance was done. Based on the findings, the study concluded that strategic leadership practices has significant effect on Performance of TransNzoia County government, Kenya β1=0.477, p value= 0.003). The relationship was considered significant since the p value 0.002 was less than the significant level of 0.05. The study came up with the following recommendations; The county government should provide great leadership  that creates a harmonious environment, entrusted with the role of communicating visions, organizational goals, and ideas to the people as well as developing a compelling vision and devise strategies to assist others in attaining the vision mandated with the task of implementing and maintaining key organizational systems and rules and even having an important say in the discipline of those within the organization as good strategic leadership enhances county government performance. The finding was significant to the researchers, academicians, stakeholders and to the entire economy as a whole.
