Abstract: The purpose of the study was to examine the influence of project planning on implementation of power transmission line infrastructure projects in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. The study will be guided by the following specific objective; to establish the influence of stakeholder planning on implementation of power transmission line infrastructure projects in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. The research design was descriptive research design with a target population of 75 comprising of project managers, team leaders, consultants, supervisors and contractors implementing power transmission line infrastructure projects in Uasin Gishu, Kenya. The study conducted a census. A pilot study was undertaken to check the validity and reliability of the data collection instrument. A questionnaire was used to collect primary data and consisted of both structured and open-ended questions to give qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data was analyzed by the use of content analysis. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics in which frequencies and percentages was used. SPSS was used to analyze the data and to determine whether the independent variables are related to the dependent variable. The study adopted a regression analysis at 0.05 level of significance to determine strength and direction of the relationship of the variables under study. Data was presented in tables. Based on the findings, the study demonstrated that stakeholder planning process plays a crucial role in the successful implementation of power transmission line infrastructure projects in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. Overall, the relationship between the dependent and independent variables were considered significant and this underscores the importance of comprehensive project planning strategies in enhancing the effectiveness of infrastructure projects in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. The study came up with the following recommendations; the power transmission line infrastructure project managers should enable proper stakeholder planning to avoid project failure as progressive projects pivot their success on involvement of stakeholders in the project life cycle. Power transmission line infrastructure projects managers should involve all stakeholders in formulation of strategies and decision making matters concerning implementation of the project through provision of stakeholder communication framework.

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to investigate strategic restructuring and organizational performance in corporations in TransNzoia County. The study was guided by the following specific objective; to determine the effect of managerial restructuring on performance in corporations in TransNzoia County, Kenya, The study was premised on resource based view theory. The study utilized a descriptive research design. The target population of the study were the top management and middle management of corporations in TransNzoia County based in corporations in TransNzoia County where the unit of analysis were Managers from operations, finance, legal, procurement, ICT and Human Resource. The study adopted census since the target population was small.  The study used primary data and secondary data. Primary data was collected by use of semi-structured questionnaires whereas secondary data was collected from company annual reports, published journals and existing researches. Collected data was checked for correctness and analysed quantitatively by use of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 29 tool. Descriptive analysis was determined by use of mean and standard deviation while regression analysis was determined by model summary, ANOVA and regression coefficients. Correlation analysis was computed to determine the nature of relationship between the variables. Analysed data was presented in frequency tables and charts where necessary for ease of interpretation. This would result in cost reduction and improved decision making. Based on the findings, the study concluded that managerial restructuring β₁=0.499, p value= 0.004) was considered significant since the p value 0.000 was less than the significant level of 0.05. The study came up with the following recommendations; the corporations should embrace effective communication, align the new structure with the strategic goals of the organization since successful managerial restructuring requires careful planning. The firm should align management goals with organizational goals for potential cost savings and reduced overhead. They should embrace a continuous learning initiatives, a culture of positive values, understanding, thinking, and feeling for a powerful and positive influence on employee behavior. The company should embrace continuous improvement approach focusing on customer satisfaction and involving all employees in the organization and meet the desired objectives and making adjustments as necessary.The firms should focus on implementing technology to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks on redesigning and optimizing business processes to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness and this can involve eliminating redundancies, streamlining workflows, and implementing new technologies or methodologies. The management of company should streamline operations to cut costs and improve profitability making the organization more responsive to external changes, such as market dynamics or regulatory shifts and that the company should reduce the number of levels in the hierarchy to cut costs and improve agility.

Abstract: The general objective of this study was to assess the influence of strategic planning and performance in Turkana county government, Kenya. The specific objective was to determine the influence of stakeholder involvement on performance in Turkana county government, Kenya. The study was anchored on the strategic leadership theory. The total population was seventy seven respondents drawn from senior, middle and junior management from the ten departments of Turkana County government, and the sample size was the same as the target population. The study therefore adopted a census method for data collection. The study used a descriptive survey research design. Data was collected using structured questionnaires. Once ascertained, data duly collected analyzed using descriptive statistics. Correlation and ANOVA techniques using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS v29) software for establishing the influence of independent study variables and the dependent variable. The analysis results were presented in charts, and tables. The study findings revealed a statistically significant influence among variables with an F-test of 16.401 being greater than the 5% significance level adopted. The results were Shareholder involvement explained 58.6% (t=2.139, r=.796) of Performance of Turkana County government.  This study will be significant to the county, national governments, institutions and non-state acting organizations.

Abstract: Performance is an organization’s ability to achieve its goals and optimize its. results. Employee remuneration is a human resource function that deals with every type of rewards employees receive in exchange for performing their tasks. It is a practice of employee relations that involves providing monetary and non-monetary benefits to employees. The main objective of this study was to determine the influence of employee remuneration practice and performance of star rated hotels in Kenya. The specific objectives were; wages and salaries, Incentives and bonuses, and fringe benefits, and the moderating variable was working conditions, while the dependent variable was performance of star rated hotels. The theories underpinning this study were, Equity theory and Herzberg two-factor theory. The study used descriptive research design, the target population was 180 star rated hotels, a sample of 116 star rated hotels were selected from each hotel region using stratified random sampling. A structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data.  Collected data was analyzed using statistical package for social science version 2.3. Descriptive and Inferential statistics, correlation and linear regression were used to measure the relationship between dependent and independent variables. Multiple regression analysis was used to determine the moderating effect of working conditions on the independent variable employee remuneration and dependent variable performance of star rated hotels. The results of the study were presented in the form of charts, tables and graphs. The descriptive results indicated with a mean of 4.60 and a standard deviation of 0.546 that employee remuneration practices enhanced performance of star rated hotels in Kenya. The correlation results also indicated that there is a very strong and positive correlation (r=0.804) between employee remuneration practices measures and performance of star rated hotels. Regression analysis results and multiple regression results indicated that employee remuneration practices positively influence performance of star rated hotels and it also helps star rated hotels to attract and retain employees. The study recommends that hotels should star rated hotels should remunerate employees well to enhance their performance

Abstract: The study assessed the contribution of school feeding program on students’ academic performance in public secondary schools more especially in Kicukiro District. The specific of this study was to ascertain the relationship between school feeding and students’ academic performance. This sample size of 288 participants was composed of students and teachers from public secondary schools. Both students and teachers were sampled by simple random sampling techniques, and then stratified sampling techniques were employed to select students from their schools and classes, where they are scattered. As showed by Karl Pearson coefficient on the relationship between school feeding and students’ academic performance in secondary schools, there was high positive correlation equivalent to .57. Again, the R2 of .491 clearly demonstrated that the increase of provision of school quality lunch to students positively increase students’ performance in their daily learning. Based on findings, the research recommend that parents should provide the contribution in implementation and smooth running of school feeding program. School leaders, local leaders, Ministry of Education and stakeholders should work hand in hand to provide all needed facilities and supports in order to smoothly implement school feeding program by providing school feeding funds and establishing related infrastructures in all schools like supporting schools to have well-equipped kitchens used for preparing lunch. Further study should be on impact of school feeding to primary education due to the fact that the Government of Rwanda through the Ministry of Education introduced the program to primary schools.

Abstract: The research assessed the effect of early childhood education practices on pupils’ performance in primary schools of Rwanda, a case of Gasabo district. Given that the practices of schools in Gasabo-Rwanda is apparently not set to provide effective support to the acquisition of the adequate performance for the primary pupils, the researcher’s attention was attracted and aimed at finding out the effect of early childhood education practices on pupils’ performance in primary schools of Rwanda. The target population of this research was 5646 population, from which a sample size of 96 respondents were chosen as the participants either 8 educational leaders (head teachers) or 16 teachers or 72 parents chosen from four schools of 4 Gasabo District and they were sampled using a simple random and purposive sampling techniques. In this research, two questionnaires were administered and collected from parents and teachers while the interviews were administered to head teachers. The findings indicated that even through there were many practice that boosted the early childhood effective learning there are also a number of practices of school stakeholders that weaken the development of pre-primary adequate competences among others teacher recruitment of qualified teachers, lack of educational leaders monitoring of teaching in pre-primary classes, lack of professional development for Early Childhood Education teachers, lack of material delivery and others equipment for pre-primary and lack of awareness about the requirements for Early Childhood Education children including inappropriate nutrition. Recommendations were addressed to the Ministry of Education and affiliated institutions requesting further investment in pre-primary school management by empowering school leaders and raising their awareness on all aspects of Early Childhood Education to facilitate their support towards Early Childhood Education teachers who are the primary agents for the development of early childhood education pupils’ competences.

Abstract: The general objective of this study was to establish the influence7 of7 innovation7 strategies7 on7 competitiveness7 among7 commercial banks in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. The specific objectives was to7 establish7 the7 influence7 of7 process7 innovation7 on7 competitive7 advantage7 among7 commercial banks in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya.  The research was based by the diffusion of innovation theory. The study used a descriptive research approach. The study focused on a sample population consisting of nine commercial banks. The selection of commercial banks is predicated upon their substantial capital basis, extensive client base, and sizable loan portfolio. The research focused on a sample of 110 employees from the operations, marketing, and information and communication technology divisions of the aforementioned institutions, as indicated by the human resource records. Given the relatively limited size and convenient accessibility to the population, the census methodology was used. The needed data was gathered via semi-structured questionnaires. Quantitative and qualitative methods was used in this study. To do this, the study employed content analysis, a technique for delving into qualitative data. In this course, both descriptive and inferential statistics was used to analyze numerical data. Descriptive statistics may be calculated using variables like mean, standard deviation, frequency, and percentage. Regression analysis is one tool used in inferential statistics. In conclusion basing on the study findings, the study came up with the following conclusions; a unit increase in strategic process innovation will lead to a 0.137 increase in competitive7 advantage7commercial banks in Uasin Gishu County Kenya when all other independent variables are held constant. Lastly, the p-values for all the variables are all below 0.05, which indicates that they are all statistically significant. The study recommended the following; the commercial banks should be involved in coming up with new process innovation strategies and use them in new marketing new markets and implementing of other new process innovation strategies.

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to establish the effect of workforce diversity on employee performance at National Museum of Kenya. The study was guided by the following study objective; to determine the effect of ethnicity diversity on employee performance at National Museum of Kenya. The study was underpinned by the following theories Primordia list approach to ethnicity theory. The study employed a descriptive study design. The target population of 552 and sample size of 232 respondents were included, that is senior management middle level management, support management and hospitality. The data collection instruments was questionnaires. Multiple regression was used to test the significance levels of one variable over the other. Analysis of variance was also used. The presentation of the quantitative data from the coded closed ended questions was tabulated using tables, charts, graphs with aid of SPSS software. From the results, there was a very strong relationship between ethnicity diversity and employee performance at National Museum of Kenya (r = .896, p value =0.002). The relationship was significant since the p value 0.002 was less than 0.05 (significant level). The study came up with the following recommendations; the management of National Museum of Kenya should try to embrace a culture which is not discriminative to enable high performance and also encourage customs and culture beliefs that dictate how employees relate with other colleagues and do work with. National Management of Kenya should discourage the employees from indulging in ethnic differences as they are likely to disrupt peace and harmony existing amongst the employees in this organization. The management should hire and recruit employees from all ethnic backgrounds from all over the country hence leads to increased productivity. The management should come up with specific training approaches to enable a workforce full of specific skills, knowledge, attitudinal or task information to enable employee performance.

Abstract: Background: Correction of refractive errors with spectacle remains the most economical, non-invasive, and extensively accepted approach. This study is aimed at assessing the barriers to spectacle utilisation among patients undergoing refraction in tertiary hospitals in Bauchi State.

Methods: The study employed a descriptive survey research design. The respondents consisted of 384 male and female patients, aged 18 to 80 years, undergoing refraction at the Eye Units of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi and Specialist Hospital, Bauchi; who were conveniently and purposefully sampled. Their mean age was 46.0 ± 15.4 years and 47.9% were females. Respondents’ demographics and barriers to spectacle utilisation were collected using questionnaires developed through the literature review. Pearson chi-square test was utilised to investigate associations between outcome variables with p< 0.05 considered statistically significant at 95% confidence level. 

Results: 88.6% of the respondents stated that spectacle utilisation was very expensive; 75.6% and 84.4% cited that ‘it was stigmatising’ and ‘it prevents normalisation of vision’ respectively. There were also associations between gender and barriers to spectacle utilisation for refractive errors correction in these areas; ‘It makes one look old’ (p=0.0099) and ‘It puts limitations to daily activities’ (p = 0.0008).

Conclusion: The expensive nature of spectacle the major barrier to its utilisation with the associated perception that it makes one look old and prevents normalisation of vision. The study recommended effective enlightenment on the misconception towards spectacles as of refractive errors corrective measure.

Abstract: This study aimed to determine the significant difference in the perceived effectiveness of virtual classrooms in enhancing the communication skills of Grade 12 students when categorized according to their demographic profile. Total population sampling was used, and it included forty-seven students. Through non-experimental quantitative descriptive-comparative technique, validated questionnaire, frequency and percentage, Mean, and t-test for independent samples showed that the majority of the respondents were female and belonged to 18 years old and above. It was also found that the perceived effectiveness of virtual classrooms in enhancing communication skills was described as moderate or sometimes manifested. Results revealed no significant difference in the effectiveness of virtual classrooms in enhancing communication skills when categorized according to gender and age. These results suggest that the perceived impact of virtual classrooms on communication skills is relatively uniform among the student population studied. It was recommended that teachers should strive to balance virtual and face-to-face interaction. When facing challenges, students should not hesitate to seek assistance from teachers or peers. Examining the influence of various contextual factors, such as subject matter and teaching methods, is essential for providing a comprehensive view.

Abstract: The use of technology in classrooms is an effective tool to motivate and engage learners in the learning process. Educators around the world emphasize its importance in facilitating teaching and learning. This paper investigates the attitudes of English teachers in Turkey towards integrating technology in their classrooms. Another, issue this paper attempts to investigate is whether these targeted teachers use technology frequently or not. Moreover, another aim is to discover whether they have received training or not. A total of 30 participants engaged in this study by answering a questionnaire online. The data collection was done through Google Forms then SPSS was applied to interpret the results more accurately. The overall outcomes show that the teachers have a positive attitude on using technology. Also, they emphasized the necessity of using it in the English language classroom.

Abstract: This action research was conducted to support the 21st century teachers in addressing pupils’ learning at home using the Home Gallery Walk strategy, a learning strategy at home to improve mastery learning in Science of Grade 6 pupils at Candoni Central Elementary School in Candoni, Negros Occidental, Philippines. It determined the effectiveness of the Tour in the Home Gallery as a learning strategy to supplement the Distance Modular Learning lessons during the pandemic.  Thirty pupils from two sections of Grade Six classes participated in the study. It utilized the mixed (quantitative- qualitative) design methods using the Mean Percentage and Paired Samples t-test as statistical tools. Findings of this study revealed that the Grade 6 pupils had low mastery level during the pre-assessment and an average mastery level in the post-assessment after the intervention. It also showed that there was a significant difference between the pupils’ pre-assessment and post- assessment mean scores. Findings of this study indicated that the Gallery Walk Strategy implemented at home improved the mastery level of the Grade 6 pupils and an effective learning strategy to improve pupils’ learning mastery in Science.

Abstract: This action research was conducted to provide support and to ensure that learning process is effective using the 4R’s cycle strategy: read, rewrite, recite and review as supplement to modular distance learning at home. Thus, this research determined the effectiveness of 4R’s Cycle or Read-Rewrite-Recite-Review Cycle as an independent learning strategy for Grade 8 students of Quirico G. Manzano Memorial National High School in Candoni, Negros Occidental, Philippines. The participants of the study were the Grade 8 students enrolled for school year 2021-2022.  Two hundred six students selected from six sections were utilized for groupings using stratified random sampling. It utilized the mixed methods (quantitative-qualitative) with Mean, Standard Deviation, and Paired Sample t-test statistical tools. Findings revealed that students were at a beginning level during the pretest. After the intervention, the post- test scores revealed that students were able to achieve a proficient level. Mean difference of the pretest and post-test was statistically significant which implies that the intervention was effective which significantly improved the level of proficiency of students in Science. Therefore, this study found that the use of 4R’s Cycle was an effective learning strategy for increasing the proficiency level of students in Science.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to establish the influence of occupational safety and health on performance of state owned entities in Kenya

Methodology: This study used the positivist research philosophy by setting up the hypotheses on the basis of the existing theories. The study used descriptive research design. The accessible population of the study was 714 management employees of state owned entities in Nairobi city. This study adopted Yamane’s (1967) formula in determining the sample sizes. The sample size for state owned entities is 256. Primary information was collected by the use of semi-structured questionnaires. Using the statistical package for the social sciences, the data were analysed using simple linear and multiple moderated regression models. To analyse the data, both descriptive and inferential statistics were applied.

Results: The correlation results demonstrated a positive and significant relationship between occupational safety and health and organizational performance at (r = 0.548, p < 0.019) at 95% level of confidence. This implies that occupational safety and health significantly influences organizational performance in state owned entities in Kenya at 54.8%. Regression analysis also revealed a positive relationship between occupational safety and health and performance (R = 0.548, R² = 0.300) and (F (1,199) = 3.907, p = 0.019). The results of the regression analysis also demonstrated that there was a positive and significant moderating effect of human resource policy on the influence of occupational safety and health on performance of state-owned entities in Kenya.

Recommendations: The state-owned entities should ensure that OHS as a practice is taken with the seriousness it deserves. The aspects more so to be taken into account should include the working conditions, ergonomics, congestion and social aspects. Therefore, to improve performance of Kenya's state-owned enterprises, all the factors around OHS must be keenly put into consideration.

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to examine some features of the International Criminal Court (hereinafter "ICC") procedural system, in particular the law of evidence, making use of theoretical models. The article first deals with the disclosure phase. Second, it focuses on the admission of evidence. To conduct the analysis, two widely known theoretical models, are employed: the accusatorial versus the inquisitorial model, and the Damaika partition between the reactive and proactive State. Despite its accusatorial structure, ICC provisions provide many important exceptions to the typical features of the accusatorial theoretical model. In particular, to uphold the values inherent in the international criminal justice system, the ICC Statute and Rules provide various exceptions to the prohibition against admitting unchallenged testimonial statements at trial. Additionally, in the disclosure phase, notwithstanding a parties-led general structure, procedural sanctions seem oriented towards leading the trial to a (possibly correct) conclusion on the merits, rather than merely punishing the misconduct of a culpable party.

Abstract: Information and communication systems are now breeding grounds for electronic-evidence (e-evidence) in audits, investigations, or litigation. Increasingly organizations are being ordered by law or lawsuit to preserve, retrieve, and hand-over relevant electronic records (e-records) because "the courts are uniformly recognizing the discoverability of electronic communication and documents" [Nimsger and Lange, 2002]. This trend is an outgrowth of aggressive tactics by regulators to ensure corporate accountability and deter fraud. In cases ranging from Securities and Exchange Commission probes of corporate malfeasance and insider trading to employment lawsuits, e-records are subpoenaed. Investigations conducted by the National Association of Security Dealers, Department of Justice, and Department of Homeland Security routinely require companies, their business partners, or third parties to preserve and disclose e-records, including internal e-mail and instant messages (IM). A high profile example is the probe into alleged White House leaks of a covert CIA agent's identity in which White House employees received e-mail stating: ''You must preserve all materials that might in any way be related to the department's investigation.'' E-mail, telephone logs, and other electronic documents were mentioned specifically.

Abstract: Filing the objection of third parties outside the litigation in administrative judicial judgments aims to protect the acquired rights and the stability of the legal positions of individuals in the face of the administration. In fact, the annulment ruling may sometimes lead to harm to others which requires the existence of legal provisions that give third parties the right to object to the administrative judicial judgment in which he/it was not a party. Yet, the problem of the research is that the Jordanian administrative legislator, in the Administrative Judiciary Law, did not give others the possibility to object to the administrative judicial judgment in which he/it was not represented, neither in person nor by an attorney. Actually, several findings and recommendations were arrived at in this research, the most important of which is the possibility of resorting to the Jordanian Civil Procedures Law in the absence of a legal provision regulating some procedural matters and being in line with the nature of the administrative judiciary, so that this method of appealing civil judicial judgments was regulated in articles 206-212 of the Civil Procedures Law. In addition, the administrative legislator in France regulated the objection of a third party and considered it as being one of the extraordinary methods of appeal for which it established special legal provisions for it that were compatible with the nature of the administrative judiciary.
