Abstract: Dobie (2003) has correctly asserted that women’s contribution to the World Wars has gone unheralded. Even though this is the situation, women in the Western World have received some attention compared to African women. African women did not actively participate in the two World Wars and this has been misconstrued to mean that they did not make any meaningful socio-economic contribution to the Wars and their respective societies. Resulting from this, scholarly works about the contribution of Africans to the World Wars have been largely remained to be male-centric and gender blind. Drawing from archival and secondary sources of data, this study argues that even though African women were not directly involved in combat, they played economic roles in their respective societies and these roles not only led to the socio-economic transformation of their respective societies but also contributed to the War efforts.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyse selected factors that influence effective succession planning in SACCOs.  The specific objectives of this study were to; determine the influence of organization culture on effective succession planning in SACCOs in TransNzoia County. The study was based on the leadership succession theory and game theory. The study adopted a descriptive research design. The population of the study was 84 respondents who are board members and members of staff of Transnational Times SACCO. The study adopted a census whereby data was obtained from every member of the population because the population is small. A structured questionnaire and an interview schedule were used as the primary data collection instrument. Content validity was used to measure the validity of the instrument. It relied on the knowledge of the experts who are familiar with the subject matter being measured. The regression model was used to analyse the data obtained to investigate the relationship between the variables. The findings revealed that organisational culture had a significant effect on effective succession planning in SACCOs in TransNzoia County, Kenya. Based on the findings, the study recommends that the SACCO management should sustain job rotation so as to enhance skills acquisition for employees. It also recommends that the management should encourage open discussion about succession planning during the regular meetings and should provide structured interviews that allow staff to know what are the required skills, competencies and knowledge for management. They should also ensure that succession planning is part of SACCOs strategic plans while explicitly stipulating standards for career growth for the employees. The study also recommends that regulatory bodies such as SASRA should emphasize inclusion of succession policies in SACCOs. The study is significant to various stakeholders in SACCO industry who include policy makers, board of directors, top management and employees of the SACCOs because it has provided them with insight on issues affecting succession. The findings of the study was to add knowledge and insights to the students as well as researchers interested in issues of succession planning in the SACCO industry.

Abstract: The effects of early childhood education on the development of behaviour at Nursery levels in Rwanda as a social safety to a bright future, has not been popular in developing countries as part of the skills developed in achieving a holistic child.The specific objectives which  guide this study were: to evaluate the extent to which the teachers are involved in the implementation of early childhood education at nursery level in Gasabo District, to examine the relationship between teachers involvement in the implementation of early childhood education and behaviour development at nursery level in Rwanda in Gasabo District in Rwanda. The significance of this study will be provision of general knowledge towards the effect of early childhood education on the development of behavior at nursery level in Gasabo District in Rwanda. This study used correlation research design in order to determine the effect of early childhood education on behavior development in nursery levels in Rwanda. The population sample size was 92 respondents. Questionnaires and guided interview were used as data collection instruments where descriptive statistics and regression analysis were used for quantitative data analysis, Karl Pearson correlation coefficient was used to establish relationship between variables while regression analysis was used to check the effect of early childhood education on behaviour development. The findings have shown that 69.78 percent from early childhood education teachers that teachers’ involvement in the educational goal setting is effective towards the implementation of early childhood education. The researcher revealed that there is a significance high degree of positive correlation between teachers’ involvement in Early Childhood Education implementation and behaviour development at nursery level where Pearson coefficient of correlation states the correlation (r) of 0.580 with the p-value=0.000<0.01. The researcher recommended that the ministry of education and educational stakeholders should provide early childhood education facilities.

Abstract: The study focused on gender as an intervening variable in comparing effectiveness of teaching methods on the interest of early childhood agricultural science pupils. Two research questions guided the study. Quasi-experimental design, specifically pre-test and post-test group was adopted. The sample for the study was 58 Basic 3 pupils comprising 31 males and 27 females from intact class. The two classes were randomly assigned experimental group I and II. The experimental group one was taught with blended learning method while experimental group II were taught with roleplay method. The treatment lasted for four weeks. The instrument for data collection Agricultural Interest Inventory. The instrument used for data collection were validated by three experts all from Department of Agricultural Education. The reliability of the instrument was established using Cronbach alpha which yielded a coefficient of 0.74. Mean and standard deviation were used to analyze the data collected for the study. Findings of the study revealed that that gender plays an intervening role in the interest of pupils in agricultural science when taught with blended learning and role play method as female pupils had higher interest in comparison to their male counterparts. Hence, the study recommended amongst others that the local government should provide more funds for research so that investigations be made to enquire on the reasons why females perform better when roleplay and blended learning are utilized and possibly find other innovative methods that would be a better fit for male pupils; and ministry of Education should organize workshops, in-service training programme for teachers so that they would be conversant in the use of innovative teaching methods

Abstract: Child sexual abuse has been researched and found to be a serious and ongoing problem world over. World Health Organization (WHO) reported that about 20% of girls and 5% to 10% of boys worldwide are victims of sexual abuse. The Ministry of Public Service and Gender in Kenya perceives child sexual abuse as being affected by environmental, cultural, social, and gender disparities. To mitigate the effects of child sexual abuse on the victims, regular counseling needs to be arranged to manage the effects of this ordeal on the child. This study soughtto assess the influence of counseling approaches on the psychological well-being of sexually abused children in Ainamoi Sub-County, Kericho County, Kenya. Specific objectives of this study included investigating the influence of play therapy, art therapy and verbal therapy on the psychological well-being of sexually abused children in Ainamoi Sub-County, Kericho County. The study was guided by Cognitive Behavioral theory and adopted across sectional research design for addressing the study variables. The target included children who accessed therapy services in Kericho Referral hospital which is the main referral hospital in the county using the hospital records, their parents and guidance as well as the counselors. The study sample comprised of 150 participants, 4 counselors, 73 sexually abused children and 73 parents/caregivers. Simple random sampling was used in selecting the study respondents. Primary data was gathered using structured questionnaires. The instruments were pre-tested for reliability using alpha (α) method by Cronbach Alpha formula with a threshold of acceptance at 0.7. Quantitative data wasanalyzed using descriptive statistics with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences Version 22.0 while qualitative data was analyzed thematically using content analysis. Data was presented in the form of tables and figures.The study found out that play therapy has some influence on wellbeing of the children and thus the alternative hypothesis was accepted and the null hypothesis rejected. The study recommends that hospital in Kenya should have child counseling units where counseling approaches such as play therapy can be used to psychologically rehabilitate sexually abused children back to normalcy in the society.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to examine the prior existence of push-pull factors that influence employees’ intention to early retirement and the influence of the new policy on these push-pull factors. Since the announcement of incentives for voluntary retirement, the issue has taken a serious level and caused unnecessary anxiety among current employees who otherwise have to take on extra burdens. A mixed approach is used to better understand this phenomenon. Opinion on the intention of early retirement of current employees is investigated through a survey and whether such opinion is supported among employees who have submitted for early retirement through interviews. The findings indicate a significant influence on HRM push factors and external pull factors on employees' intention to resign early. The external pull factor seems to override the HRM push factors. This observation is supported by those who have submitted for early retirement. This phenomenon seems to have been accelerated by the government monetary rewards policy introduced for employees to take on voluntary retirement. The findings indicate the importance of introducing targeted policy approaches rather than introducing a general policy to minimize negative implications on health employees in Bahrain.

Abstract: No doubt, prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the use of technology for education delivery and instruction is already synonymous with teaching, learning and assessment processes. The strategy, which blends traditional education model of face-to-face in-classroom instruction with the use of technology and digital media afford students the opportunity of interacting in real-time in peer-groups or with instructors and even participate in lectures virtually if the need arises (such as the total lockdown). For the fact that Nigerian education system has no adequate facilities to go virtual in teaching and learning amidst COVID-19 pandemic (during schools lockdown), it is hereby concluded that effective use of blended teaching-learning and assessment strategies should be adopted. Part of the recommendations was that teachers and students should acquire necessary skills for the use of blended learning tools. Governments and relevant agencies should provide supportive facilities for e-Learning (online and offline) needed for effective use of blended learning and assessment. Also, parents and guidance should collaborate for effective use of blended teaching-learning strategy. This will help our education system to surmount the impact of the pandemic on teaching and learning, and be on the global pedestal in post-COVID-1 9 dispensation.

Abstract: Training and developing programs are seen in organisations as means of increasing the relevance of the organisation solely by elevation of employee effectiveness. Human capital is valuable to an organisation. Employees are the mitochondria of an organisation as it is through them that the organisation’s goals are realised. Therefore, offering training and development activities is becoming a vital venture for organisations. Training and development of employees requires a commitment of resources, often in the form of time and money. This being the case, there exists a risk that the results of the training and development would not be worth the financial cost. There is also a risk that the training and development would not translate into improved organisational performance, therefore it could simply be considered a waste of time.

It was deemed necessary to investigate the impact that training and developing employees has on the performance of an organisation, the types of training, and challenges associated with training and development programs that employees or management may face.

Training and development programs are a worthwhile investment. The results both long term and short term reveal that they stimulate motivation and job satisfaction in employees which in turn leads to high employee productivity and overall an increase in the organisation’s financial returns.

Abstract: Purpose: This study investigates the worldview of Gond communities for Biodiversity Conservation in AABR. Surveys and insightful interviews were conducted for data collection and information on their world views gathered in dominated by these tribal forest villages.

Design/Methodology/Approach: The information is then structured using primary and secondary sources to detail a synthesis of opinions and joint research investigations undertaken by numerous authors regarding the Gondi culture's important contributions.

Findings: The Gonds have created several tales regarding the environment and sustainability considerations. These tails are strongly associated with totemic objects. They see and categories amphibian (5%), animal (35%), bird (5%), fruit (10%), grain (5%), insect (5%), leaf (5%), reptiles (10%) and tree (15%) as living and non-living entities. Natural objects are all considered life, while water is considered non-living. They categorize land according to the color and texture of the soil.

Abstract: The integration of smart learning in teaching and learning process can be successful as long as the student’s performance interested in learning using smart learning, intention to use and interaction with ICTs. Even if there is distinctive contribution of smart learning on students’ performance, the researcher still discovering the relationship between the two variables. This study entitled, “The contribution of smart learning on students’ academic performance in public secondary schools of Rwanda” was guided through two specific objectives which are assessing the the status of smart learning on effective teaching and learning secondary schools of Rusizi and ascertaining the relationship between smart learning and students’ performance in public secondary schools Rusizi. The sample size of 181 respondents using Robert and Morgan table where the respondents were made of 4 school managers, 4 assistant school managers 40 educators and 133 learners were sampled from 4 secondary schools with and without smart learning systems. The schools, head teachers and deputy head teachers were chosen purposively while teachers and students were selected using purposive and simple random sampling techniques. The results showed that schools with standard smart classroom with well equipped with smart learning tools has improved the students grades where 48% strongly agreed and 23.3% answered agree. The responses showed that students develop practical activities such as ICT skills and literacy, digital practices of their courses where smart learning is utilized as the electronic library and laboratory by using videos and others digital materials such as pictures, figures, audios and images. The results showed that there was a correlation between smart learning and students’ performance where Karl Pearson coefficient of correlation was .751 which means the smart learning contributed to the students’ performance.

It is because of the noblest role that the teacher in India was the most respected member of society. Recently Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under the Government of India published final report National Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020). NEP-2020 divided teacher education in two parts, first one school education and second one is under higher education. NEP-2020 planned something new for teachers which help improvement of teacher education programme in India. This paper discusses the planning of new NEP-2020 for teachers in school education and higher education programme and also the implementation process.

Abstract: This study investigated the relationship between SP (SP) and CA (CA) in Pinar Company in Istanbul city in Turkey. The sample consisted of 289 employees in Pinar company. A questionnaire contained three sections were distributed to the participants. The questionnaire was a 5-Point Likert Scale. The data were analyzed quantitatively by using SPSS. The findings of the study revealed that there is a positive correlation between SP and CA in Pinar Company. The study also found that there is a positive relationship between operational efficiency, capacity building and CA of Pinar Company. The study recommended conducted further studies that articulate the relationship between SP and CA in other companies in Turkey.

Abstract: The present study endeavors to investigate the awareness of Moroccan English language tutors with regards to using L1 (the Moroccan Arabic) in teaching ESL/FL in the Moroccan context, the work at hand is believed to be as the first study of its kind in Morocco. There has been a considerable number of studies and counter-studies regarding using the mother tongue in teaching L2 of which a substantial part recommends the monolingual approach which regards English as the only medium of instruction. However, the translanguaging approach, an essential bilingual teaching pedagogy, asserts that the mother tongue can reliably be incorporated into the English language teaching process. Incidentally, multiple sources show that English professors and researchers observe the utilization of first language in L2 classroom to be comparably advantageous. In this context, an online survey questionnaire was used to investigate primarily the approach most commonly implemented in teaching L2 in Morocco. For this purpose, one hundred and ninety six (N = 196) academically qualified and experienced male and female teachers from across different regions of Morocco took part of our investigation. Corresponding results indicated that the majority of the participants are overwhelmingly in favor of employing the Moroccan Arabic, that is, the learners’ L1, in teaching L2 for several reasons, mainly to explain new vocabulary and grammar lessons, offer feedback, establish class discipline, and save time. The obtained findings are believed to have a considerable impact on the way language tutors approach their English teaching class especially in ESL/FL context, as it contributes to the existing literature and examines newdata from a novel perspective.

Abstract: The Constitution is a supreme law in almost every country in the world. Since states are dynamic, the constitution is also called upon to evolve to adapt to this dynamism. A static Constitution is a fallen Constitution. But in Africa, notwithstanding the adaptability to which the constitution must be subjected, there is a constitutional inconsistency detrimental to the good mobility of the state. This inconsistency is caused by a glut of constitutional revisions for sordid gains, often linked to the retention of heads of state in power beyond the previously defined legal mandates. As a result, several crises have rose and have, in most cases, resulted in political arrangements and agreements that have sometimes supplanted the constitution.  Despite some one-off successes in discouraging constitutional slippages, African constitutionalism is marked by recurring failures in its career. Ultimately, Africans need to return to common sense. The constitution to be written must interact with all the stakeholders in the social contract. It must avoid leaning towards political authoritarianism and thus establish by law an impassable border to the powers. And that will be the affirmation of the rule of law by constitutional orthodoxy.

Abstract: This paper attempts to show the relevance of trade and commerce to the emergence and growth of Gusau town and trade that link between long hold commercial activities. In the growth and development of Gusau, this paper shows that trade and commerce played significant role in the emergence and development of the town. It examines the historical background of Gusau and nature of its geography; describes the settlement and socio-economic activities of the inhabitants and their neighbours respectively. It also shows that agriculture and crafts occupation were the chief economic activities of the people in the area. The nature of crafts occupation industries in the area which include blacksmithing, weaving, dyeing, pottery, wood carving and leather working or tannery. These activities stimulated both internal and external commercial exchanges leading to the emergence of Gusau market and also contributed to the development of markets in the whole of Hausaland. The objective of this paper is to take a look at the evolution and significance of trade and commerce to the emergence and growth of Gusau settlement. To achieve this, the paper involves secondary sources of information; and data collected were used in order to actualize the goal of the study.

Abstract: Definitions of Policy in the Vallés manual (four complementary defining categories):

1.- Control over people and resources. Any phenomenon linked to forms of power and domination over others would be political, imposing on them behaviors that would not be spontaneously adopted (manifestation of politics-power).

2.- Politics as an activity developed through a system of political institutions. It would be political any activity inserted in stable institutions (basically the State) authorized to exert a coercion on the community (manifestation of the policy-institutions).

3.- The policy directed by values of order and social balance. Any activity aimed at promoting the common good or the general interest, through the redistribution of values (manifestation of the policy-system of values), would be political.

Beyond discussions of which characteristics are closer to certain democratic ideals, the interest is focused on distinguishing and classifying types of democracies on the basis of institutional characteristics, collective actors and citizens and see their effect on effectiveness, functioning, achievements. and ultimately stability. The discussion of its quality and approach to certain ideals is also underlying, but it is less important.

Abstract: An important branch of the social sciences, widely developed in modern times, and still under construction, is SOCIOLOGY.

Unfinished science, presents in its bosom, a debate that makes many of its concepts are not properly defined, there is confusion on many subjects.

The above has led more than one author, to the anger of sociologists, to point out that it is still an unfinished science and that it has a certain chaotic character in its formulation.

Abstract: During the seventeenth century the major cognitive faculties--sense, imagination, memory, and understanding or intellect--became the central focus of argument in metaphysics and epistemology to an extent not seen before. The theory of the intellect, long an important auxiliary to metaphysics, became the focus of metaphysical dispute, especially over the scope and powers of the intellect and the existence of a `pure' intellect. The following general assertion can be drawn that man as a person lives and fulfils himself within the perspective of his transcendence. It is not only freedom, obligation, and responsibility but also the person’s surrender to truth in judging as well as in acting that constitutes the real concrete fabric of the personal life of man. The will from itself is not able to work alone. It needs the support of the senses and the power to grow. The sense are tools which we can recognise the truth of good. In the same way, the sense is in control of the intellect. We cannot separate senses from the human organism because they belong to our humanity. The upshot of this paper is subject oriented to metaphysical discussion. To deals with the forms of faculties of the human person, the paper shall elaborate three aspects: the intellectual faculty, the sensitive faculty and the vegetative faculty. The human person is such a being that cannot be separated from these three faculties.
