Abstract: In 2016 Suwaseriya1990 ambulance service was launched and in 2018, Suwaseriya1990 Foundation was established by parliamentary act No.18 of 2018 to deliver high quality pre-hospital emergency health care to people of Sri Lanka. At present, Suwaseriya1990 provide island-wide, pre- hospital emergency care to all Sri Lankan free of charge at point of delivery. Objective of this study is to study the organization and operation of Pre-Hospital Care emergency ambulance service (Suwaseriya1990) in Sri Lanka

A desk review was conducted to studying the organization and operation of Suwaseriya 1990 and thematic areas were based on World Health Organization’s Health system frame work. Narrative data synthesis was done for reporting.

Thematic areas were recorded positives in leadership and governance, services delivery, information technology and work force. Gaps and opportunities for development can be seen in leadership and governance, work force and service delivery. Average   response time of ambulance is less than 14.32 minute in non-Colombo area and 8.38 minute in Colombo area. Some policies like equity, quality and risk reduction and mechanism for evidence base practice is lacking. Opportunities are existed for service expansion and staff development

Improvement of Capacity of Emergency Medical Technician and strengthening of evidence base practices are recommended for further improvement of services. Further policy development of equity, quality and risk reduction is recommended

Abstract: This study is to determined the effect of ownership structure on dividend per share of food production companies in Nigeria. Ex-Post Facto research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consists of seven food production companies in Nigeria. Data were extracted from the sampled companies and were analyzed and tested with regression analysis to ascertain the significant effect between the dependent and independent variable. The result shows that the family ownership and firm leverage have a positive effect on dividend per share of food production companies in Nigeria. The study therefore recommended that by appointing members of families to high management and board representation posts, family shareholders can therefore keep an eye on managers to reduce agency problems or conflicts in the organization.

Abstract: This study examined the firm attributes on timeliness of financial reporting of two African countries; (Nigeria and Ghana). Ex Post Facto research design was adopted. This study adopts the stratified random sampling technique by selecting the two viable countries from their Stock Exchanges. Data extracted were analyzed and hypotheses were tested with multiple regression analysis to ascertain the significant effect among the variables. The analysis shows that bank size of the two countries have a positive, but insignificant effect on timeliness of financial reporting of deposit money banks in Nigeria and Ghana. While the results show that there is a negative and insignificant effect between and return on assets and timeliness of financial reporting of deposit money banks in Nigeria and Ghana. Based on the findings of the study, the researchers advised bank management to implement and enforce strong internal control systems in their organizations and can afford continuous audit to make it easier to audit a large number of transactions in a relatively short period of time because banks are relatively large.

Abstract: The words “reason”, “cause” and “evidence” are frequently used throughout with premise of an argument and can therefore be applied in specific contexts to reflect different interests, such as historical, logical, philosophical, religious and legal. Just as using one word to stand for many things can encounter problems, so may it be in using many words to stand for one thing. It is possible to bracket our controversies by relying on context. Sometimes our use of words depends on the domain of enquiry or the prevailing paradigm in the social world, which thus implies that different types of argument are involved requiring different kinds of evidence. Legal problems involving reference to evidence cut across all areas of human endeavor using arguments, and the persuasiveness of law lies in the idiosyncrasies of legislators. Logicians see arguments as relation between evidence and conclusion. Since evidence is to be seen as fact in the legal world it is subject to the controversy surrounding the bivalence of truth and falsity. We more generally refer to our evidence as “reason” that may require validation. The problem of dealing with evidence is not so much that of meaning but that of its nature and application to thought. It concerns relativism against the need for universalism. Legal arguments can sometime be so complicated, based on the kind of evidence they require. They are concerned with thinking about rationality, causation, proof and justification. It is belief that globalisation of evidence is necessary to enhance justice throughout the world. This study will clarify the concept of evidence, classify and present it, and more importantly, give the concept and its application a global look.

Abstract: Countries depend on their civil service for the achievement and implementation of social, economic, and environmentally sustainable development as the machinery that design, formulate and implement policies, strategies, and programs, and discharge the routine functions of the state. This study aimed at exploring the relationship between distributive justice and organizational citizenship behavior among civil servants in Kenya. Distributive justice is critical in achieving increased employee morale, reduced turnover, and productive culture. This study was informed by increased counterproductive work behaviors among civil servants which have resulted in poor quality services to citizens. A cross-sectional research design was adopted to study three hundred and seventy-five employees who were selected through simple random sampling to respond to a structured questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results confirmed the existence of a positive and significant relationship between distributive justice and organizational citizenship behavior; correlation coefficient, R= .625, P=.000; coefficient of determinant, R-squared = .391, ANOVA results with significant F-value and T-value for the Beta coefficient. The study concluded that distributive justice was a critical factor in inspiring organizational citizenship behavior of civil servants in Kenya and should be by civil service management to improve performance. This result adds to the existing knowledge, and theory and confirms the dimensionality of distributive justice in an African cultural setting.

Abstract:  In this study I have taken the most familiar private colleges in Oman-Muscat to apply my study on this kind of organization to identify the impact of teamwork of academic staff within the colleges they belong to and finding out the outcomes of organization due to the teamwork. This study was conducted by taking samples from each college in Sultanate of Oman –Muscat region. The colleges names are: Scientific College of Design, Mazoon College, Majan University College, Middle East College, Gulf College, German University of Technology in Oman, and Caledonian College of Engineering. The sample size was 95. And that focusing academic staff from each of these colleges from different departments. It is the descriptive research which have chosen the scale to measure the Impact of each Team Effectiveness on Organizational outcomes that has been conducted by questionnaire survey which include some factors of Team Effectiveness such as: team climate, interpersonal relationships, team communication, team composition and interact with wider organization. In other side also we can see that was four dependent variables such as the: Organizational commitment, organization learning, organization performance and organization development. The outcomes and finding of this research were measured by using the following methods such as: Checking the reliability of both Team Effectiveness and Organizational Outcomes, then we have shown the frequency according to the Demographic profile (Gender, Age group, Educational level, Department and Occupation), then we have check the correlation, the finding regarding the correlation was as follow: the correlation coefficient (Person) between Team Effectiveness and Organizational outcomes for members of the study sample of (.840) with significance level (0.00). This indicates that the Team Effectiveness and Perceived Organizational Outcomes is slightly significant because the significance value is reported as 0.000 which is nearly 0.05. After that we have checked the Regression result which we have got by using SPSS version 22, Based on the result it can be inferred that Team Effectiveness is significantly impacting Organizational outcomes because the variance explained is 69.7 %. It can be inferred that Team Effectiveness affect Organizational Outcomes of the Academic Staff in the Private Colleges.

Abstract: The study focused on the Impact of Non-Governmental Organizations Activities on Women Empowerment in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. The factors under investigation include the impact of these Non-governmental Organization activities such as the impact of skill acquisition training, family life education and reproductive health education on women empowerment in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. In order to achieve this study, three (3) objectives of the study, research questions and null hypotheses were formulated to guide the conduct of the study.  A total of Two Hundred and Fifty (250) copies of the questionnaire was administered and the entire (250) copies of the instrument were retrieved and considered usable. The data collected through the questionnaire were analyzed with arithmetic mean amd standard deviation, while the hypotheses were tested with z-test, Total enumeration sampling technique was adopted for the study due to the manageable size of the population. A 4-point rating scale structured questionnaire was developed and administered to the respondents. Mean and standard deviation analysis were used for the data analysis in research questions while the null hypotheses were tested using z-test statistical tool at 0.05 level of significance. A careful analyses of the data and testing of the hypothesis revealed that Non-Governmental Organizations Activities impact women empowerment, Partnership for Transforming Health System (PATHS) and Centre for Integrated Health Partnership (CIHP) have positive and significant impact on women empowerment in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. To this end, the researcher recommended amongst others that: Government should encourage the creation of more NGOs for women hence, it has positive impact on women empowerment in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State; Government and Non Governmental Organization should organize awareness and enlightenment campaigns on family life education because of its influence on women empowerment in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State; finally, Government should organize awareness, enlightenment campaigns on reproductive health education for women empowerment in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Abstract: In this study, the researcher investigated the types of the foreign language learning strategies secondary and high school students use and the effect of these strategies on their English achievement. In the study Young Learners’ Language Strategy Survey was used as the data collection instrument. The survey includes statements about the strategy use of learners on reading, listening, writing, speaking, translation and vocabulary knowledge in the target language. 255 public secondary and high school students from the 8th to 12th grades were asked to complete the questionnaire. The students’ English proficiency was between pre intermediate to intermediate based on the number of English hours they had been taking starting from their 4th grades in public school curriculum. The findings of the study revealed that there was a strong correlation between students' language learning strategies use and their English achievement. Based on the study findings, it can be said that raising awareness of English learners’ on their use of diverse strategies may help them to improve their language competency.

Abstract: This paper aims at investigating the reasons for poor speaking skills of Arabic EFL students and identifies the efficient methods for improving their speaking abilities. The major interest of such paper lied in discovering the embedded reasons regarding their inability to communicate in English as well as to cope with factors influencing learners’ English speaking skill. For this objective, a questionnaire addressing students’ attitudes of English language was distributed to the students. The sample consisted of 20 Jordanian EFL bachelor male and female students, who have passed their national and international tests. They were chosen purposefully from English department at Yarmouk University. The findings showed that the lack of participation in English classroom, their shy of attention when speak English, their poor vocabulary knowledge, ineffective group working, and the traditional teaching methods in the classroom constitute a challenge among Jordanian EFL learners.  As a result, using various teaching methods, designing effective lesson plans, giving the students clear-cut instructions, and giving the students enough room to speak English in the classroom can be used to solve such problems that hinder EFL students from speaking English in the classroom.

Abstract: Dental caries is considered to be one of the most prevalent infectious disease in humans across all age groups because they affect 60-90% of the world’s population. With the introduction of refined sugar into the modern diet and an improved understanding of the pathogenesis of dental caries, the need for novel approaches to caries prevention has become is a key undertaking for addressing the caries burden in the 21st century. Here, we focus on current and prospective therapeutic approaches against dental caries, including chemical modalities such as fluoride and chlorhexidine, vaccines, antimicrobial peptides, replacement therapy, quorum sensing targets, nanoparticles and natural products. Further research is needed to develop a safe and efficacious approach against caries, or specifically Streptococcus Mutans, in humans.

Abstract: This study was aimed to determine whether there was a significant difference in motivation for learning (in terms of amotivation, extrinsic motivation, and intrinsic motivation) and relationship with academic achievement in English as a Foreign Language class (EFLC) among Grades 7, 8, and 9 students at No. 4 Middle School of Xinyu, China. The participants were students from Grade 7 (110), Grade 8 (105), and Grade 9 (109) enrolled in the target school during the academic year 2021-2022. This research employed the Academic Self-Regulation Questionnaire (SQR-A) and English subject’s monthly tests for each grade as research instruments. The data analysis revealed that the level of motivation for learning in EFLC was slightly high for Grades 7 and 9 students, and high for Grade 8 students. Moreover, the level of academic achievement in EFLC was found to be excellent for Grade 7 students, a failure for Grade 8 ones, and moderate for Grade 9 students. Participants’ academic achievement in EFLC was found to be significantly correlated to Grade 7 students’ extrinsic motivation for learning in EFLC, Grade 8 students’ amotivation for learning in EFLC, and Grade 9 students’ extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Also, a significant difference in overall motivation for learning in EFLC was found between Grades 7 and 8 and Grades 8 and 9 students at the target school. Based on the research findings, recommendations for students, teachers, administrators, and future researchers are provided.

Abstract: This study was aimed to determine whether there was a significant relationship of the use of language learning strategies and the academic achievement of first-year junior high school students at a public secondary school in China. A conveniently chosen sample of 109 students, enrolled in the target school during the academic year 2021-2022, participated in this study. For the data collection, Yang’s (1992) Chinese version of the Strategy Inventory of Language Learning (SILL; Oxford, 1990), and the English subject’s final test, were used. From performing descriptive statistics on the collected data, it was found that the level of use of language learning strategies held by the participants, in terms of direct and indirect strategies, was moderate, as well as the overall levels of use of memory, cognitive, compensation, metacognitive, affective and social strategies for learning English held by the participants. On average, the participants academically underachieved in English language class. From a correlational analysis, it was found that the participants’ use of language learning strategies (in terms of memory strategies, cognitive strategies, compensation strategies, metacognitive strategies, affective strategies and social strategies) significantly and strongly correlated with their academic achievement in English language class, and also accounted for 45% of its variance. Based on the research findings, recommendations for students, teachers and future researchers are provided.

Abstract: This research study entitled ‘The influence of head teachers’ leadership styles on effective learning process in secondary schools of Ruhango District” intends to assess the extent on which head teachers’ leadership style influence on effective learning process. The descriptive research design was used by the researcher. The primary and secondary data were used by the researcher in collecting research information. Primary data were collected with the use of questionnaire and interview guide addressed to the sampled population. The targeted population of this study was equal to 150 persons made of head teachers, deputy head teachers, teachers and students and local authorities from which the researcher got the sample size of 108 informants using Robert and Morgan Table. The descriptive research design and sampling techniques were considered whereby purposive sampling, stratified and simple random sampling, the data processing, tabulation and analysis was done utilizing the IBM/SPSS version 2.0. The results of this research will be significant to the researcher as this helped her to understand the contribution of head teacher’s leadership style on effective learning process in secondary schools. The findings revealed that the best leadership styles used to enhance students competences in secondary schools are coaching and instructional leadership styles as it was shown in the mean of the agreement 35% and 50% of the respondents who answered strongly agreed and agree respectively. As to whether the effective leadership styles affect learning processes in secondary schools, the majority of the respondents equaled to 40% who responded strongly agreed, and 42% responded agree confirmed that when a school head teacher practices the leadership styles, the school production increased though the success of students and teachers competences for effective learning process. The respondents’ students views showed that when a school head teacher put in practice the leadership styles the school achieve its outcomes for effective learning process where the agreement mean of was 42% who responded strongly agreed, 47% responded agree. The researcher has recommended that the Ministry of Education should enhance monitoring and evaluation on the capacity building activities provided to teachers and make sure that school leaders are putting them in practices for effective leaderships. The Rwanda education board (REB) and National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) would work in collaboration to make sure that the hired school teacher and head teachers are competent enough and ready to satisfy the students’ expectations.

Abstract: The Covid-19 pandemic forced educational institutions to shut down. Just like a damsel in distress, the educational system needed a knight in shining armor, and so online learning comes to the rescue. Online learning rescued many countries from academic freeze during this global pandemic. This present study will explore the perception and challenges of student-parents in online learning during this global pandemic. Perspectives and challenges were also examined in terms gender. Lastly, it is also explored if there is a relationship between the student-parent’s perspectives and challenges. Results shows that student-parents have neither positive or negative perception about online learning and that they experience moderate challenges in this learning setup. However, comparing the means between males and females, it is revealed that females are more challenge with this online learning set-up than males with a mean difference of 0.28. In terms of relationship between the student-parents’ perspectives and challenges of online learning, the results revealed that respondents’ challenges of online learning do not have association with their perspectives.

Abstract: This study aimed to determine whether there was a significant relationship of mathematics self-efficacy and anxiety with mathematics academic achievement of Grade 12 students at a public high school in Yunnan, China. A quantitative correlational research design was chosen to examine the relationship between these three research variables. The participants were 106 students conveniently sampled from the Grade 12 Science Program at the target school, during the academic year 2021-2022. The Mathematics Self-Efficacy and Anxiety Questionnaire (MSEAQ; May, 2009) was adopted and used to measure the levels of the participants’ mathematics self-efficacy and mathematics anxiety. The mathematics final exam scores were collected from the participants to measure their mathematics academic achievement. From the data analysis, it was found that the overall level of mathematics self-efficacy held by Grade 12 students at the target school was moderate, their overall level of mathematics anxiety was low, and there was a significant, positive and moderately strong relationship between their mathematics self-efficacy and mathematics academic achievement. Moreover, a significant, negative and moderately strong relationship between mathematics anxiety and mathematics academic achievement of Grade 12 students at the target public high school was found, and a significant, moderately strong multiple correlation among participants’ mathematics self-efficacy, mathematics anxiety and mathematics academic achievement was obtained. Recommendations are provided for students, teachers, school principal and administrators, and future researchers, based on the research findings obtained from this study.

Abstract: This study investigates what lies behind public bad leadership in Somalia's federal government by analysing the perspectives of 21 respondents including senior policy analysts, senior government officials, and representatives of the NGOs, local communities, the youth, religious leaders, and scholars. The key findings of this study are that bad leadership in Somalia manifest in those who operate the federal system against society's needs, lack a clear vision and purpose, put their personal interests ahead of the public interest, dictate what they want to the community, have no prior experience in politics or federalism, and sign unverified deals with foreigners are viewed as bad leaders. Favoritism, clan-based recruitment in government institutions, dictatorship, rapid property creation, short-sightedness, lack of vision, and corruption are major behaviors and activities exhibited bad leadership in Somalia. This study concludes that bad leadership is a fundamental contributor in Somalia's political collapse. Therefore, the study suggests certain measures that may be implemented to address the problem of bad leadership in Somalia including reforming the electoral system, finalizing the provisional constitution, boosting civic education, and thoroughly examining individuals' biographies before allowing them to run for public office.

Abstract: Due to the unexpected circumstances brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, all of the life aspects worldwide have been affected from livelihood, economy, and most especially education. Since physical contact with people is strictly prohibited, the majority of the schools and universities worldwide have shifted from traditional learning to online and distance modes of learning, and considering the new mode of learning there were multiple studies that highlight the important role of motivation in the academic performance of the student, especially in a virtual learning environment. Upon reading the literature it can be said that there are studies that still lacking in some aspects and this was due to the differences between respondents, location, and context.

This study utilized the Scale for Motivation Towards Learning Geography adapted from Yildirim (2017), this descriptive-quantitative study aims to determine and understand the level of motivation of students in learning social studies in the virtual environment and to identify if there is a significant difference between students’ gender and class level and their motivation to learn about social studies online between the four factors identified by Yildirim (2017) which are interest, confidence, information acquisition, and performance.

The study has a total of 127 college students from Western Mindanao State University who are taking up social studies subjects. The results revealed that respondents have a “High Motivation” and are still motivated amidst the challenges brought by the pandemic. Respondents show that interest, confidence, information acquisition, and performance are still positive even in the virtual learning environment, and the love of learning social studies is still manifested. It was also noted that virtual learning or online learning helps the respondents to continue excelling in the class through a variety of social media apps that help boost their confidence and instill more interest in learning social studies.

Abstract: Nigeria got independence in 1960 from the British colonial masters. Since then, democracy experiences have been very bitter and unsavory. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised, members of Houses of Representative and Senate. The sample size was sixty (60), selected through a simple random sampling technique. Both quantitative and qualitative research instruments were used to generate data. The quantitative research instrument  was used,  titled, “Rating Scale on impact of Electoral Laws and Citizenship Education on Sustenance of Democracy in the 21st Century in Nigeria”, fashioned on four likert rating scale; Strongly Agreed (SA), Agreed (A), Disagreed (D) and Strongly Disagreed (SD), while Focus Group Discussion (FGDS) was used to generate qualitative data. The research instruments were validated by two experts in Test and Measurement, while its reliability was done through test-retest method and 0.64 coefficient reliability was obtained. Based on the findings of the research, conclusions were made that Citizenship education could informed people and acquainted them better than their civil rights. Also, Electoral laws could promote good election process in democratic practice etc. Based on the findings, recommendations were therefore made that; Citizenship education should be taught either, through the formal or non-formal system of education. Also, Electoral Laws should be made accessible to public either print or electronics media and so on..

Abstract: Some scholars of history have argued that the establishment of colonialism in Kenya in 1895 impacted negatively on women from an economic front. More specifically, they state that the economic burden on women increased as men migrated in search of paid employment leaving women to cater for their household’s economic needs. They have also argued that land, upon which women relied for economic sustenance, was taken away leaving women vulnerable economically. Moreover, the introduction of cash crops also contributed to less land being available to women for the production of food crops. Worse still, the introduction of individual ownership of land through land titling encouraged men to sell their land thereby leaving less land available to women for food production. In general terms, most scholars have held the view that the establishment of colonialism in Kenya disadvantaged women economically by impoverishing them. While this is true, this chapter argues that women confronted the challenges presented by colonialism by transforming their economic roles and, by doing so, they were able to engage positively in economic activities in Kiambu County.

Abstract: This study focuses on the online learning readiness of culture and arts students. The aim of this study was to analyze the readiness of culture and arts students in terms of confidence and importance category. The research tool which is the “Student Readiness for Online Learning (SROL) Instrument” developed by Florence Martin, Brandy Stamper, and Claudia Flowers was used in this study. The result showed that students have a very high level of readiness towards online learning in terms of importance and high level of readiness in terms of confidence. This suggest that despite the sudden shift of the learning platform, students are still ready to learn through the utilization of the internet and digital tools.

Abstract: The outbreak of the pandemic had resulted in numerous damages and issues in every part of people's life. In terms of Education, there is a sudden shift from face-to-face classes to online learning. Different types of Learning Managements Systems (LMS) were used by the schools. Microsoft Teams is one of it. The purpose of this study was to explore and determine the perceptions of the undergraduates of Western Mindanao State University on the use of Microsoft Teams. There are several studies that have been conducted about the effectiveness of Microsoft Teams, however, previous studies appear to have had a dearth of participants. A total of 419 respondents participated in the present study. Independent-samples T-test, descriptive statistics, and one-way ANOVA were used to code and analyze the data in this study.  Results showed that Microsoft Teams was rated as “Average” in terms of its effectiveness compared to other online learning platform, and the respondents found its features as useful, simple and easy to use. However, it needs faster internet connection for the Microsoft Teams to work well.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper was to examine the effects of effective teaching practices and competences of students with special educational needs in basic education classrooms in Rwanda. Specifically, this research paper analyzed teachers’ centered method, practical exercises, and gestures for student with hearing impairment, sign language, well emplaced seats on competences of students with special educational needs in basic education classrooms in Rwanda. The Rwandan Ministry of Education and Rwanda Education Board will learn its effective teaching strategies to increases competences for students with special education needs.

Education officials and students themselves will understand their roles in implementing inclusive education for effective competence. Thus, teaching and learning methods will improve effective learning in sampled schools. The research methodology for this study consists of a descriptive research design using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. A sample size of 166 respondents was calculated using Slovene’s formula. Both purposive and simple random sampling were adopted. Results were analyzed in accordance with specific objectives. The study felt that 62.7% of students strongly agreed that their teachers used teacher's centered method, 63.5% of respondents strongly agreed that the practical exercise was adopted, 69.0% of students strongly agreed that teachers use gestures, 65.9% of students strongly agreed that their teachers use sign language and 68.3% of students strongly agreed that well emplaced seats are provided to students with visual impairment. In the same vein, 52.% of teachers strongly agreed that  they have adopted learners centered method, 42.0% of teachers strongly agreed that  they used practical exercise,44.0% of teachers strongly agreed that they used gestures, 44.0% of teachers strongly agreed that they have used sign language. Finally, 44.0% of teachers strongly agreed that they have provided well emplaced seats to students with visual impairment. Results presented demonstrated 70.6% of students strongly agreed that students with disability have developed psychomotor learning, 76.2% strongly agreed that students with disability have developed cooperation &communication, while76.2% strongly agreed that students with disability have increased creativity skills. Perception from teachers contradict with students. In this regard, 58.0% of teachers disagreed that students with the statement concerning the ability to learn out of school/classroom, while 742% agreed that students with disability have increased creativity skills. It was shown that the use of sign language is statistically affecting literacy learning skills for children with special educational needs since the p value is less than 0.05 (B=0.261; p value =0.068). Finally, practical exercises are statistically significant with Creativity of SEN (B=0. 231; p value=0. 060).

Abstract: The relationship between student satisfaction and learning interest when their instructor uses the web as a learning platform was investigated in this study. Respondents came from two colleges of Western Mindanao State University. The participants age ranges from 18 to 22 years old and completed an online questionnaire. The data in this research was analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent samples T-tests, and Pearson correlation. The findings of this study revealed that when a teacher uses web-based instruction, there is a favorable association between student satisfaction and learning interest. The findings suggest that student satisfaction has a beneficial impact on their learning interest and that the more frequently teachers use the internet and multimedia, the more satisfied and interested students are in learning social studies.

Abstract:  The aim of this study was to establish the effect of environmental factors on gender roles in Chepareria Ward, West Pokot County.  The specific objectives of the study were; to examine the effect of social factors on gender roles in Chepareria, West Pokot County. The study was guided by Socialist Feminism and Social Role Theory. The study targeted all the farmers in Chepareria Ward. The target population for this study was 7001 comprising of farmers and county officials. The study used simple random sampling techniques to sample 364 study participants. Pilot study was conducted in Pokot south constituency consisting of 36 respondents who represent 10 percent of the sample size. Data was collected using structured questionnaires.  The data collection instruments will be tested to determine its validity and reliability through pilot study. The collected data from the field was organized cleaned and coded to reduce errors that might have arisen during data collection.  The data collected was analyzed quantitatively using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) Version 20. Multiple regression analysis, Pearson correlation analysis and ANOVA was done to test the relationship between the variables and results presented in charts, tables and description.  The study findings is hoped to guide community development endeavor, the government policy makers and other stakeholders in Chepareria ward, West Pokot County. The correlation results depicted a strong relationship between the dependent variable (gender roles) and the predictor variables at the following coefficients; social factors at r = .591; at p<.01 significance level. Subsequently, regression results established that the dependent variable (gender roles) was influenced significantly by the independent variable (Social factors) in a linear relationship as depicted by the multiple linear regressions. The regression results indicated that a unit increase in Social factors led to a 0.387 unit increase in gender roles in Chepareria ward, West Pokot, County, Kenya.  This study recommends that people be encouraged to own smartphones to enable them access crucial information. It is necessary for people of Chepareria ward to be trained on the importance of having multiple sources of income and also to differentiate between assets and liability to enable them improve their monthly income. The people of Chepareria ward should also be trained on saving in part of their income co-operative societies. This study further recommends that women should also be given opportunity to engage freely in economic and social activities. Finally, the study recommends that men should be encouraged to participate actively in production of goods that can improve their financial wellbeing.

Abstract: The rapid development of ecotourism provides a way to benefit both the ecosystem and the environment. Environmental protection and sustainable economic development. However, environmental issues are becoming more and more important at ecotourism destinations and seriously impede sustainable development. This study links a sample survey of 158 tourists to Morocco over the last five years, where environmental knowledge, perceptions of environmental value, perceptual effects of consumption, and environmental attitudes stimulate and shape environmentally friendly tourism behavior. Between the knowledge and behavior of the environment and the elucidation of the factors that directly and indirectly influence it.

The study findings mainly focused on understanding how the environmental knowledge impacts the environmental behavior,The study suggests that environmental knowledge has a direct impact on Morocco`s environmental behavior, but other factors interact with this association, as shown in the indirect section. Tourists with a high level of environmental knowledge and education do not necessarily have to exhibit environmental behavior unless there are appropriate conditions for the behavior to prosper. The Moroccan government needs to invest in efforts to create more routes and long-haul shuttles while facilitating this action, improving infrastructure such as public transport, and improving the driver's experience. .. You also need to invest in better strategies for waste disposal on the road. With tax cuts on roads and green products, these measures not only promote healthy behavior but also strengthen the relationship between these two factors.

Abstract: Lack of vibrant and productive skills have been attributed to a high rate of crime and criminality in Nigeria, thus, necessitated the study. The population of the study comprised, inmates of penitentiary institution in the twelve states (Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross-Rivers and Akwa-Ibom) South-South and (Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Lagos and Ekiti)South-West, Nigeria. the sample size of the study was one hundred and twenty (120) respondents from each state, ten (10) respondents were selected, through a snowballing sampling technique. A self-developed research instrument titled, “Ranking Scale on Effects of Entrepreneurial Training on Crime and Criminality Management at Penitentiary Institutions in south-south, Nigeria”, fashioned on four likert rating scale on Strongly Agreed (SA); Agreed (A), Disagreed (D) and Strongly Disagreed (SD). The research instrument was validated by an expert in Test and Measurement, while its reliability was determined through test retest method and 0.68 coefficient reliability was obtained. Research hypotheses were analysed using, inferential statistics (Spearman ranking correlation analysis). Based on the results obtained, conclusions were made that, entrepreneurial training could engender the inmates of penitentiary institution with entrepreneurial skills and values to embark on small scale business. Also, that crimes and criminality could be reduced. Based on the conclusions, recommendations were made that entrepreneurial training should be incorporated with criminal justice provision in Nigeria. Also, government should endeavour to provide adequate fund and logistics that will made entrepreneurial training feasible at penitentiary institutions in Nigeria and so on.

Abstract: The living condition and patterns of lives of ex-inmates are issues within the practice of criminal justice in Nigeria, thus, necessitated the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised, ex-inmates of correctional centres in Oyo and Ondo States, Nigeria. The sample size of the study was One hundred and twenty (120) respondents, selected, through a snowballing sampling technique. Research instrument used were both quantitative and qualitative instrument. A self-developed quantitative instrument titled, “Ranking Scale on Community Based Organizations Influence on Recidivism, Character Reformation and Hygiene among Ex-inmates of Correctional Centres, Oyo and Ondo States, Nigeria”. It was fashioned on four Likert rating scale; Strongly Agreed (SA); Agreed (A); Disagreed (D) and Strongly Disagreed (SD). Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) was used to generate qualitative data. The research instruments were validated by two experts in test and measurement, while the reliability at the quantitative research instrument was done through test-retest method, 0.70 coefficient reliability was obtained. The research hypotheses were analysed, using, inferential statistics (Spearman ranking correlation analysis), while qualitative data was transcribed qualitatively. Based on the findings of the study, conclusions were made that, community based organizations positively impacted on recidivism, behavioural reformation and hygiene of ex-inmates of Oyo and Ondo States, Nigeria. Based on the conclusions, recommendations were made that, CBOs should be more alived and attuned to their counselling service for inmates of correctional centres. Also, CBOs should follow up the behaviours of ex-inmates to guide against recidivism among ex-inmates of correctional centres in Oyo and Ondo States, Nigeria.

Abstract: Ornamental plant production is becoming increasingly popular as an enterprise especially when the COVID-19 pandemic has started. Many people now venture into this kind of business because of its importance to the local and global market. The study was carried out to understand the conditions surrounding the adoption and sustainability of ornamental plant production with the use of a qualitative approach specifically the grounded theory developed by Glaser and Strauss in 1967. Snowball sampling technique was adopted in selecting the informants. A total of 30 ornamental growers served as the informants who come from the four barangays of Baybay. It was found out that the conditions surrounding adoption and sustainability of ornamental plant production technology are categorized into: 1) contextual, 2) human, 3) economic, 4) institutional and technological factors. Results also revealed that despite the lack of support from the government and other problems met by the respondents, they still venture into ornamental production mainly because of its economic benefits. With positive reinforcement of all the factors that surround the adoption and sustainability of ornamental production, discontinuance of the adopted technology can be mitigated. Hence, a need for technical assistance from concerned institutions, change agents and other factors is also important to sustain the technology.
