Abstract: Until recently Greece was a migration sender rather than a host country. But, over the last 20 years, things have changed and, according to the National Statistical Authority (2011), the percentage of aliens residing permanently in Greece is 8.34%, of which 52.7% come from Albania. Thus, the student population is significantly heterogeneous, and the demand for new curriculums and textbooks which are in accordance with universal agreements and conventions that promote equality, mutual respect and human rights was intense.
However, how can we create a cohesive and democratic society while at the same time allowing citizens to maintain their ethnic culture and identity? These two concepts, interculturalism, on the one hand and nationality on the other, were the motive forces for writing this paper.
In particular, this paper aims at examining, through content analysis of the texts and the activities and by following the summary method, how potential it is to implement intercultural education through literary textbooks, which are used in the Greek primary schools over the last years (since 2001 and 2006). The results showed that the references to high interculturalism prevail. There are a few references to the additive or to the contributions approach, while the presence of strong national elements is not intense. The references to mild nationalism are increased. 

Abstract: This article takes a critical look at the moral justification of the aged-long practice of active and involuntary euthanasia among the Basotho people of Southern Africa. In this practice, terminally ill aged people were left at the entrance of the kraal allowing them to be trampled by cattle until they die. It is also argued that the practice of euthanasia is not alien in Africa, but Africans had their own way of practicing euthanasia. On the other hand, it is argued that this practice of euthanasia violated both the notion of human dignity and the principle of respect for autonomy. The moral theory of deontology provides the theoretical framework for the discussion. As a non-empirical paper, a review of existing literatures on the subject provides the background to the study. The paper concludes that there is no moral justification for the practice of active and involuntary euthanasia among the Basotho people.

Abstract: Women constitute half of the world population, but they are the largest excluded category in almost all respects. Women are neglected at family, community and societal levels and living as an oppressed class. Historically they have been exposed to extreme form of physical, sexual and psychological violence and enjoy least socio -economic status.  They have been victims of gender based violence and their miseries got intensified further due to patriarchal nature of society.  Women attempted diversified strategies to liberate themselves from shackles of exploitation and feminism was a major response to challenge patriarchy at global platform as well as within national boundaries. 
Like other states of India the position of women in the state of Jammu and kashmir remained subordinate all over the state.  Moreover the problems of women have been further enhanced due to age old political trauna in the state.  However from the early decades of 20th century, women in the state of J & K got conscious about their subjugation due to emergence of political conciousness, expansion of modern education, spread of cultural awareness and deterioration of economic conditions.  Women participated in socio -political movements in 1930's and the subsequent years there has been rising pattern of women leadership in the state politics of Jammu and Kashmir.  Many of the women also fought against Pakistani invaders in 1947.
The groups like women's wing of peace brigade and women's resistance force are worth maintaining in this regard, undoubtedly, the political representation of women in the state is far from satisfactory due to less political conciousness and the cross fire of conflict between India and Pakistan, but there has been seen rising political awareness among women in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.  Role of women in panchayat Raj institution (PRI’s) is attracting a lot of serious attention in the present context in the state. The present study examines the role of women in the political arena and their growing political consciousness with special focus of identifying the causes responsible for their marginal representation in the state politics. 

Abstract: Personality is a dynamic and organized set of characteristics possessed by a person that uniquely influences their environment, cognition, emotions, motivations and behavioral science in various situations. The major objective of the present study was to assess the personality dynamics of students who belong to Dental college of Bhopal. Population of the present study included all female and male students (hostellers and day scholars) studying in Peoples University, Bhopal. For the present study students of dental college were randomly selected. Simple random sampling technique was used to select the sample of 200 students with age ranging from 19 years to 30 years out of which 50 male and 50 female students were selected among the day scholars of the college and same number of male and female students from hostel. Gender wise analysis indicated that female students exhibited high vulnerability for Anxiety and Depression than male students, while male students exhibited inclination towards Extraversion as compared to female college students. On the other hand both type of students presented same levels of Conscientiousness, Agreeableness, and Openness.

An important area where women have been inadequately represented is in the political sphere. Articles 325 and 326 of the constitution of India guarantee political equality, equal right to participation in political activities and right to vote respectively. Lack of space for participation in political bodies has not only resulted in their presence in numbers in these decision making bodies but also in the neglect of issues and experiences in policy making.

Abstract: This study investigated the availability and use of reference sources and service in Babcock university library. A survey research design was used and a simple random sampling method was adopted to determine the 93 samples used for this study. Findings were analyzed using descriptive statistic sand the results indicated that 38(40.9%) of the respondents use the reference sources weekly. Majority of the respondents indicated that reference sources are highly available, accessible and adequate except yearbook, bibliographies and biographies that are not available, accessible and adequate .Therefore, university libraries should provide students with relevant reference sources, effective library orientation programme sand also employ an innovative librarian that has good customer relationship.

Abstract: In this paper, which is essentially a literature review, the researcher undertook a critical investigation into the major predictors and incidence of kidnapping in contemporary Nigeria. The paper further reviewed the various scholars’ and media pundits’ perspectives on kidnapping. Nigeria is in the throes of kidnapping occasioned by a multiplicity of both individual risk factors and social forces. The rising incidence of kidnapping is disturbingly high and destructive to both human and capital development in the country. The current pattern or trend of kidnapping in contemporary Nigeria is a basket case; little wonder therefore that the latest global ranking placed Nigeria as the fourth most notorious kidnapping nation where people can be easily kidnapped with impunity. The quest to settle political differences, inordinate ambition to acquire and accumulate wealth, poverty and social exclusion, perpetual pains of unemployment, and reaction to existing detestable social and political developments are some of the main causes of kidnapping in Nigeria. The central policy implication of this paper is that it will guide security agencies and policy makers on crime and criminality in making reliable policies that will reduce the incidence of kidnapping in Nigeria to the barest minimum.

Abstract: Every year 3, 00,000 to 4, 00,000 people migrate to Dhaka and most of the them finally find their places in slum areas where their standard of living is even exacerbated as they live in dilapidated residence with a very limited access to health, water and sanitation. Slums dwellers of Dhaka continuously face hurdles to access safe water and proper sanitation and had an unacceptable level of malnutrition, hygiene and health. In such a backdrop, by reviewing the existing literature the paper attempts to explore the cause behind the ongoing sufferings of the slum dwellers in spite of the past initiatives adopted by the government, private parties and NGOs. The papers finds that in spite of several initiatives taken by the government, NGOs and private parties to address the slum dwellers, desired level of success was not achieved for lack of coordination and evaluation, following top down approach, poor need assessment,  and implementation failure. 

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to establish the impact of computer implementation on administration use in public secondary schools in Nyamira North District.t.  The objectives of this study were to; determine how computers were utilized, determine how the impact of computers was rated among the principals; HODs (Head of Department) bursars and librarians. The study utilized descriptive survey design. The researcher used four tools for data collection: principals’, HOD’s, Bursar’s and librarians’ questionnaire.  The target population was 40 public secondary schools from where a sample of 12 schools was purposively obtained. The data were collected by the researcher by administering the tools himself.  The data analysis was done using SPSS (Statistical Package of Social Sciences) and Chi-square was used to determine the level of significance of the impact of computer. The study found that only two schools in Nyamira North use computers in accounts offices and the library. It was also found that all management offices were inadequately prepared in use of computer skills.  In the principals’ offices, it was found that computers were mainly used for clerical jobs such as typing letters. Bursars used the computers to receive fees, pay vouchers, and prepare budgets and balance sheets. Librarians used computers to issue books, receive books, trace books and locate them on the shelves. The impact of computers were found to be great because they made work easier as they could detect and correct errors, store large volumes of work, edit documents and produce accurate reports. In accounts, computers had a great impact by availing up to date records and speeded work. In the library computers have a great impact in tracing books on loan, receiving and issuing books and locating books on the shelves hence guarding against loss of books?

Abstract: Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) was launched in April 2002 with allowed objective of providing quality basic education to all children in 6-14 yrs of age throughout the country. It put in place community based planning with wider and active participation of stakeholders aiming at bringing social and gender gaps, if any in providing basic education. Muslims is per census 2001 constitution 13-43 percent of total population in the country as a variety of studies and reports indicate a rather low level of socio economic indicators for Muslim community and Urdu SSA suitable strategies were formulated to ensure the enrolment, attendance, retention and successful implementation a basic education by all Muslim children by 2010 including Muslim girls. Report of DISE 2011-12 as given in “Flash Statics “ indicated that in 2011-12 the total enrolment of Muslim children was 13.61 percent S.C The marginally short (-0.12 %) of their total section to the total population, while girls enrolment was 49.17% almost equivalent to their share in total population. However the retention rate of 75.94 indicate that nearby 24% children either drop out or are repeaters and in order to put their back to school special reservation are required as suggested in this article in order to achieve universities of basic education. It is well known that education is critical for economic and social development. It is essential for creating human capabilities and for opening water opportunities and that is why education is now considered as a basic human right and globally are sort of war has been declared on illiteracy. Illiteracy by 2015 is one of the goals of millennium including India development goals and the member countries are committed to it. It may be mentioned that providing basic education for all would ensure social justice and equality in society and would create conducive conidian for of marginalized and unprivileged seeking the society.

Abstract: This paper is an attempt to unleash Elizabeth Bishop’s affirmative ideology analysing few of her poems reflecting her concerns for issues of war, weaker sections of the society and concerns on the class divide in the society. Bishop’s moral affirmations impart a ray of hope in the disappointing hopeless situations, arising due to political and economical unrest in twentieth century America, as an effect of various conflicts and wars in the period. Her moral affirmations or beliefs give a strong optimistic ideology to her poems. Though her moral affirmations and her social concerns are reflective of a very basic and simple way of thinking but was a required ideology for the war afflicted society on the verge of forgetting the simple and peaceful living. Reluctant to make grand moral claims in her writing, Bishop’s poems remain consistently attuned to the crucial role in the ongoing social reformation for the development of self and polis.
