Abstract: The incorporation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology into architectural education has gained increasing importance in preparing upcoming architects for evolving industry standards. This study delves into the crucial factors that contribute to the successful adoption of BIM within the Diploma in Architecture program at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). It encompasses a thorough literature review along with a questionnaire survey to meet the research objectives, followed by statistical analysis to interpret the collected data.

This research not only sheds light on the status of BIM integration within UTM's Diploma in Architecture program but also offers practical suggestions for enhancing the incorporation of BIM technology into architectural education more broadly. The outcomes of this study can guide curriculum enhancements and institutional policies to better equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge for success in the architecture industry.

Three main research objectives were identified: (i) to pinpoint critical success factors in BIM implementation for architectural education, (ii) to assess the significance and its benefits of BIM in the eyes of Diploma students and its application, and (iii) to evaluate the BIM competency levels within Diploma in Architecture education. The research targeted data collection and the population at the Centre of Diploma Studies, SPACE UTM, in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru, focusing on students enrolled in the Diploma Architecture program and emphasizing the learning benefits of BIM for architectural education at the Diploma level.

Abstract: The benefits of Information Technology (IT) on the Ibadan property market operations was investigated in this study. Primary data were collected from 72 estate surveying and valuation firms through structured questionnaires. The response rate was 67 percent, and descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The results indicate that estate surveying and valuation firms engage in the general practice of estate management and prioritize the adoption of specific IT tools based on their perceived importance. The adoption of IT tools has been beneficial to their practices as it promotes cashless operations, reduces the risk of fraud amongst staff, reduces the risk of robbery attacks on practicing firms, creates a clutter-free workplace, promotes efficient record keeping, ensures efficient inter-office communication, virility of marketing of services to the widest audience beyond and across borders, among others. The study also found a statistically highly significant relationship between IT adoption level and IT level of benefits, which suggests that integrating IT can augment operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall performance in real estate transactions and management. The study recommends that the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) in alliance with the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (ESVARBON) through her Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) should be updating and orientating its members on innovations and technologies that would enable them to meet with best global practices.

Abstract:   Feature selection aims to choose a small subset of the relevant features from the original ones by removing irrelevant, redundant, or noisy features. Nowadays, researchers employ evolutionary algorithms for feature selection in images classifications. However, the performances of these evolutionary algorithms varies in image processing, hence the best algorithm cannot be ascertain. Thus, this paper carried out a performance evaluation on some selected feature selector based evolutionary algorithms (Ant colony optimization, Gravitational Search algorithm, Particle Swarm Optimization and Firefly algorithm). 120 face images were collected and pre-processed to remove irrelevant features. The pre-processed images were subjected to each of the selected feature selectors to select salient features. Image matching was done with Back-propagation neural network. The results showed that GSA outperformed other techniques with 88.3%. while PSO gave 75.8%, ACO produced 76.7% and FA generated 80.8%.

Abstract: With the development of science and technology, network technology has been widely used and integrated into the micro-classroom reservation system, forming a new Internet-based reservation system. The system can make online reservation and mobile phone reservation at any time and place, providing teachers with a more convenient way to make an reservation. In addition, the teacher-centered system pays attention to the concept of humanization and warmth, which helps to analyze and count the use of the classroom, rationally arrange the practical training classes of normal students, and then improve the efficiency and resource utilization of the micro-classroom. In order to facilitate the teachers, save the reservation time and improve the reservation environment, we developed a micro-classroom reservation system.

Abstract: This study aimed to examine effect of remedial teaching on mathematics achievement among secondary school students in Sweden: Evidence from high secondary school. The research targeted 287 respondents from Per Brahe Secondary School in in Jönköping municipality. The study sampled 167 respondents by using Yamane formula. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analysis through the statistical package for social science (SPSS) version 21. Research data were obtained through questionnaires and documentation. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression. The results of the findings indicated that the remedial teaching was more correlated with student mathematics achievement in upper secondary school (r = 0.766; p= 0.000). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that remedial teaching contributed to 69% of variation on the performance, hence plays a vital role in student mathematics achievement in upper secondary school. Additionally, it was further inferred that remedial teaching affects positively student mathematics achievement. The study recommended that teachers should mobilize their students to attend remedial activities.

Abstract: GPT, a large language model, demonstrates remarkable capabilities in text generation, translation, and writing. In the field of consumer behavior research, GPT can be utilized for analyzing consumer behavior data, personalized marketing, and designing consumer experiences. This study explores the impact of GPT on the consumer purchasing process. It is found that GPT influences each stage of the consumer purchase process, including need recognition, information search, evaluation and comparison, purchase decision, and after-sales service. The findings suggest that GPT offers new perspectives for business marketing strategies and product design. Companies can leverage GPT to better understand consumer behavior and needs, thereby enhancing marketing efficiency and product competitiveness.

Abstract: This paper examines how research carried out in Kenyan Universities is safeguarded and disseminated. It highlights the challenges of sharing research information by the faculty in different universities in Kenya. Often, research in universities is contained and controlled within the individual universities with little sharing to the public outside the given universities. The problem is aggravated by the fact that few universities have repository centres and even where such exist the data is not in open access (OA), thus reducing exposure of the research to the world of other researchers. Besides, such scenario often leads to duplication of research which may hinder exploration to uncharted research landscapes. Consequently, this paper addresses the lacuna on lack of a unified universities’ research storehouse in Kenya. Additionally, it suggests intervention avenues through which the Kenyan universities could address the gap. The research argues for the need to launch an academic data repository in which all researches in the universities would be collated and made available through open access data base (NOADB). The database could be modelled according to faculties such as Humanities, Sciences, Economics, and Education. In the NOADB, local and global researchers would easily and readily access research information in the different disciplines.

Abstract: Cloud computing is a platform that provide users with computing resources via the Internet on a pay-as-you-use basis. In cloud computing paradigm, resources are shared; hence, there is a need to utilize the resources appropriately to achieve the quality of service stipulated by the user and yield maximum profit for the service provider. This requirement of resources sharing informs the need for efficient jobs scheduling. Jobs Scheduling means the set of policies used to control the order of work to be done by a computer system. The jobs scheduling problem in cloud computing focuses mainly on efficiently using computing resources to benefit both the service provider and the user. In this study a new algorithm is proposed that minimize the completion time and cost of cloudlets on resources and improve the overall experience of both service providers and customers. The hybrid genetic algorithm uses the output of max-min and first come first serve methods. Two physical machines, twenty five virtual machines and two thousand cloudlets were used to test run the algorithm. The results showed that the proposed algorithm achieved the optimal solutions for the two metrics of completion time and cost.

Abstract: Real estate development has witnessed remarkable growth in recent years, In South East, Nigeria, as the world becomes increasingly interconnected, the impact of information and communication technology (ICT) on various industries is undeniable, the integration of ICT in real estate project management has significantly transformed the industry, enhancing efficiency, speed, and accuracy in various processes. This article evaluates the impact of ICT in real estate project management in South-East, Nigeria, highlighting the benefits it brings to the sector. To conduct this evaluation, a mixed-methods research approach was employed using two different data collection instruments viz: mixture of structured and open-ended questionnaire and semi-structured interviews with the selected project teams which include architects, quantity surveyors, real estate project managers and real estate developers were used to gather information on the study. The collected data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods for the quantitative survey. The study revealed that real estate project management in the South-East Nigeria has experienced increased transparency and accountability through the use of ICT. Online project tracking systems have made it easier for stakeholders to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with regulations even from afar. Adoption of ICT in real estate project management has resulted in significant cost savings and increased profitability. ICT impacts positively on real estate project management in the South-East Nigeria especially in term of increased efficiency, collaboration to analysis and cost savings, ICT has become an indispensable tool in this industry and has transformed traditional project management practices by streamlining processes, enhancing communication, and providing stakeholders with real-time project information. As the real estate market in Nigeria continues to grow, it is imperative for professionals in the sector to embrace ICT integration to remain competitive and ensure project success.
