Abstract: Effective project planning and scheduling are crucial for the successful execution of building construction projects. Traditional scheduling methods often encounter challenges such as uncertainty in task durations and resource constraints. This research explores the application of robust regression analysis, specifically iterative reweighted least squares (IRLS), as a method to enhance the accuracy and reliability of project planning and scheduling networks. Robust regression techniques are employed to mitigate the impact of outliers and deviations from normal distributions, common in construction project data. The study focuses on developing a framework that integrates robust regression into the scheduling process, aiming to improve the estimation of task durations, resource allocation, and overall project timelines. Through the case study, the method use is critical path method (CPM), project evaluation review technique (PERT) which identified the critical paths and probability of finishing the project on time. The research extends to regression analysis using ordinary least squares to determine the relationship between the independent variables (Time optimistic, Time most likely and Time pessimistic) to the dependent variable and identify outliers in the data.MM Estimation was use to minimize the outliers. The efficacy of the proposed approach is demonstrated, highlighting its potential to enhance the efficiency and resilience of project management practices in building construction.

Abstract: The research entails an in-depth analysis of IoT adoption in enhancing supply chain performance in fruit processing firms. The major problem faced by the organizations of study was the minimal degree of integration of devices, machine and people within the organization therefore affecting the supply chain process. The research paper, therefore, sought to bridge the existing research gap on IoT adoption in the supply chain process in fruit processing firm in Thika Sub- County. The specific objectives sought to identify the level of adoption of internet on supply chain performance, the extent of hardware systems used, the software applications adopted and cloud computing to enhance supply chain performance in Fruit Processing firms in Thika Sub County.The study employed use of secondary research technique and single method approach to existing literature; whereby the data was collected from websites, scientific journals, and other resources. The collected data was analyzed using content analysis method which depicted that IoT adoption in improving the supply chain process was vital due to minimizing delays in the supply chain process, inventory management and meeting customer requirements. Early detection of suitable temperatures and humidity levels of varied fruits was reported and minimization of data loss due to cloud back up was observed. Based on the findings, it is worthwhile to recommend robust quantitative research on IoT adoption in other processing firms.

Abstract: Multicollinearity remains a significant concern in Simultaneous Equation Models, as the inherent interdependence of variables within the system can lead to high levels of correlation among the independent variables. This can have substantial implications for the reliability and interpretation of parameter estimates in the Simultaneous Equation Models. As such, this paper propose an extended two stage least squares (2sls) estimator by introducing principal components which will eliminate the concern of high correlation among the variables in the simultaneous equation model. The extended 2sls estimator (2sls-pc estimator) transforms the predictors to principal components before producing an estimate. In a bid to compare the classical two stage least squares (2sls) with the two stage least squares with principal components (2sls-pc), simultaneous equation model with three equations predicting Final Consumption Expenditure, Gross Domestic Investment and Gross Domestic Product were modelled. The 2sls-pc estimator addressed the high collinearity between the dataset and produced more significant estimate than the classical 2sls estimator while retaining all the information from the original dataset.

Abstract: Temperature is an essential weather component because of its tremendous impact on humans and the environment. As a result, one of the widely researched parts of global climate change study is temperature forecasting. This study examines the monthly average temperature levels for year 2008 to 2020 in  Jos, Nigeria. A preliminary check on the time series plot of the data showed that the series was not stationary. The classical Box and Jenkins Time Series methodology with its indicative ACF and PACF identification guide was employed. The ARIMA (3, 1, 3) model was found to be adequate for the series and the monthly forecast from 2021 to 2024 showcased relatively stable temperature values within these years.. In the end, it was recommended that studying and carefully applying ARIMA models could help scientists and decision-makers in formulating effective policies for flood prediction, urban planning, and environmental management.

Abstract: Mathematical understanding is a critical concern in mathematics education and instruction. It holds a fundamental role in mathematical activities, and all mathematics teaching activities must aim to achieve mathematical understanding. To attain mathematical understanding, we must clarify its connotations and forms. Mathematical understanding is a form of thinking, a process that involves recognizing the essential characteristics of mathematical objects based on existing knowledge and experience. Mathematical understanding manifests through two primary forms: intuition and abstraction.

Abstract: This study examined curbing youth migration through sustainable industrialization and economic empowerment in Rivers State; the role of technical and vocational education and training programmes. Specifically, this study sought to investigate the causes of youth migration to overseas; examine the youth economic empowerment role of TVET in curbing youth migration in Rivers State; and to identify the industrial role of TVET in curbing youth migration in Rivers State. Three research questions and hypotheses were answered and tested at 0.05 level of significance. A descriptive survey design guided the study. The population of the study comprised 100 technical education lecturers and 144 final year technical education students in the three tertiary institutions in Rivers State that offer TVET. The population was manageable, therefore, the entire population was used for the study, and hence no sampling technique was used for the study. Self-made survey questionnaire served as the instrument for the study. The instrument was face validated by two experts. The reliability of the instrument was established using Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient which yielded a coefficient of 74. Mean and Standard Deviation were used to answer the research questions while z-test statistical tool was used to test the hypotheses. The study found among others that high poverty level, low economic performance, bad governance are the causes of youth migration while TVET improves the living condition and livelihood of the youths, creates employment in both rural and urban areas, equip youths with requisite knowledge, and skills to be engaged, transforms nation economy and creates platform for production. It was recommended among others that Nigerian leaders should cultivate a youth-friendly socioeconomic environment by providing technical know-how, resources for youth to thrive.
