Abstract: "Building morality and cultivating people" is the fundamental task and primary mission of colleges and universities. Currently, colleges and universities in China are carrying out reform in curriculum with ideological and political education, advocating that all courses should give students some ideological and political education while teaching them professional knowledge and skills. With a case study of English courses in Zhaoqing University, the author proposes that the construction of curriculum with ideological and political education should carry out innovation in "four dimensions" - teaching philosophy, teaching content, teaching methods and teaching evaluation, to effectively strengthen the effect of ideological and political education in English courses.

Abstract: The distribution of some selected heavy metals (Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Nickel, Chromium, and Iron) of five undisturbed soil profiles in Port Harcourt Metropolis affected by industrial and municipal wastes was assessed vertically and laterally, to ascertain the nature and extent of contamination, mobility particularly with respect to distance from the impact point, depth in the soil profile, and chemical form of metal in the soil. It was found that the concentration of the metals in the top-soil (0-5cm) at each site within impact point was very high. However, levels of these metals decreased with distance, with all metals reaching background levels at 100m away which show little relation to the metal loading at the surface horizon. Samples taken deeper in the profiles (30-60cm) nearly devoid of organic matter did not show elevated metal levels compared with the sites 100m away from the source. High concentration of heavy metals at the impact points of the study area could cause adverse effects on plant quality and yield, and also on human health.

Abstract: The study sought to examine the effects of understaffing on employee performance at the Forensic Pathology Division of Namibia Police Force. The other objectives of the study were to establish the factors that led to understaffing and the effects of staff shortage on employee workload at the Forensic Pathology Department. The study used both quantitative to qualitative research approaches in which questionnaires and interviews were the main data collection instruments. After application of the Krejcie and Morgan Sample Size calculator, 103 questionnaires were administered in the Police Department in Oshakati. Probability sampling and non-probability sampling methods were used to select the participants from the sample frame. The data was analysed using SPSS which helped in data presentation. The content analysis method was used to gain better understanding of qualitative data from interviews. The results concluded that excessive workload, lack of incentives at the mortuary section, poor working conditions and lack of understanding on the essence of working at the mortuary as well as lack of opportunities for growth and advancement were amongst the key reasons why staff shunned the Forensic Pathology Division leading to understaffing. The study further concluded that understaffing had an effect on employee performance in terms of the hectic working environment which increased staff dissatisfaction and decreased staff morale leading to poor performance. It was also concluded that understaffing leads to work overloads that lead to further abandonment of other tasks resulting in poor performance. The study recommended that the Forensic Pathology Division should find ways of improving remuneration and compensation schemes for employees in an endeavour to minimise labour turnover. The Division was also advised to recognise good work and institute various motivation and retention strategies which make staff happy while attracting new members to join the Forensic Pathology Division.

Abstract: During a period of time, that our “world” comes to face new social, political, and financial changes, all the time… the cultural institutions such as the museums, are asked to redefine their role and their impact on society. Through the necessity to produce social work, they address to an increasingly wider public and activate at issues such as tolerance, diversity, innovation and creativity.

More specifically, as concerns the school public, the educational role of the museums, especially the last few years has been proved to have an important development, something that is evident through their educational projects. The aim of the museums is to attract school students to visit and get to know the exhibits of the museum collections in such a way that will help and complete the educational process of the school community. With this project we will try to prove that only through a complete and substantial cooperation between museum and school we will manage to familiarize students with the museum as an institution and as a place which will offer them an educational and entertaining experience. Furthermore, the education of this educational project provides us with the possibility of giving feedback and therefore of researching the conditions of the fulfillment of the goals and the intentions of it and not only that but also it leads to possible interventions of improvement.

As concerns the practical part of the project, of what has been planned and organized is a “Presentation of the Heroes of the Greek Revolution of 1821 and their relics”.

This project was put into practice in a tested formula with the students of E’ and ST’ class of the 2^nd primary school of Peristeri as participants.

This instructional project was connected and coordinated with the school timetable through the school subject of ST’ History of primary school having as a purpose to transform the strict theoretical knowledge that school has established into an experience which can be obtained in the museum environment.

Abstract: This article aims to feature the contribution of Environmental Education (E.E.) to Renewable Sources of Energy (R.S.E.) and energy saving. Particularly the goal of this study is to examine whether the role of E.E. can be catalytic, in order for everyone to realize the importance and necessity for R.S.E. in all sectors and manifestations of our life. In this respect we attempt to outline the character of E.E. and the procedures followed during materialization of its programs.

Through the need for change of human attitude towards the environment on one hand and the value system of our society on the other hand, education can play an important role. Overcoming the anthropocentric perception of the environment and the recent understanding of technology as an effective tool and means for dealing with worldwide environmental problems, rising on a daily basis, are rendered more and more significant.

This article concerning E.E. and its contribution to R.S.E. and energy saving constitutes an attempt to highlight its importance. Besides it takes upon the major subject of the necessary change of the traditional and established mentality of educational practice, which considers students as passive receivers who aim at the accumulation of knowledge, and focuses on the active participation of the individual for mastering and constructing knowledge, developing values and forming attitudes while the teacher acts as an assistant and supporter of their every step and action.

It is not our ambition to develop or evaluate specialized applications of R.S.E. neither we attempt to fully cover the issue of the introduction of R.S.E. to education. This issue had better be discussed in the overall framework of incorporating R.S.E. in the school curricula through the spectrum of the modern technological developments and become the subject of a more through and profound search.

Further study and experimental research are definitely required in order to define and further clarify the above issues.
