Abstract:This study explored the needed educational competencies for special education teachers who working with intellectual disability (ID) children in Saudi Arabian schools. Via this study, a scale for determining educational competencies was built, delivered to the jury and administered to a hundred participants (males and females). Respectfully, gender was also calculated and referred that there is no significant differences in the participants’ competencies. In addition, qualifications are also essential in stating their effect and asserted that it essential in differentiating potentialteachers working intellectual disability students. The study recommended that other variables are really needed to be explored such as building parental skills for treating ID children. Inclusion is portrayed about the child’s right to participate in life and school duty to be accepted. Inclusion rejects the use of special schools or classrooms to separate students with disabilities from students without disabilities. A premium is placed upon full participation by students with disabilities and upon respect for their social, civil, and educational rights.

Abstract:Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) have been recognized worldwide as the bedrock of any nation’s industrialization. Apart from generating more than 50% of employment in industrialized countries, the fact also remains that they are very close to the grassroots and therefore, finger a lot of rural development. Thus, the contributions of SMEs to economic growth and development have been recognized in Nigeria.
Ofoegbu, Akanbi & Joseph (2013) posit that SMEs are the panacea for the economic development of many developing countries including Nigeria. They argue that interest on SMEs would contribute to creation of jobs, reduction in income disparity, production of goods and services in the economy, as well as providing a fertile ground for skill development and acquisition. In addition, it serves as a mechanism for backward integration and a vehicle for technological innovation and development especially in modifying and perfecting emerging technological breakthroughs. SMEs contribute to improved living standards, bring about substantial local capital formation and achieve high level of productivity and capability.

Abstract:Effective succession management encompasses strategic human resource planning which can result in significant mobility for high achievers for which the normal employment regulations will not apply. The public service in Kenya especially at the County level are faced with succession and stagnation career management challenges one of which is the ageing staff where a large number of employees are nearing retirement yet there is no one to take over from them once they retire. The study specifically sought to establish the relationship between strategic human resource planning and achievement of strategic goals. The study adopted a correlation research design since the researcher was trying to ascertain the type of relationship between two or more variables from a sampled population based on data which was collected using a self-administered structured survey questionnaire. The target population was 3108 out of which 354 respondents were a sampled. The findings reveals that there exist a significant correlation exists between achievement of strategic goal and strategic human resource planning (r =0.321, p <0.05) The study concludes that county governments need to have human resource plan which puts into consideration all key positions and one which is reviewed annually guided by strategic plan. The study recommends that the county government develop and implement human resource planning policy and competitively recruit competent staff by following the due process.

Abstract:  In the era of globalization, Social media play a key role in business all over the world and an essential part of individuals live as well. It is a useful tool for firms who is eager to maintain and expand their market share or at least to avoid to be left in behind and get out of the market in nowadays fierce competition. Consumer preferences analysing is an important topic for both academic researchers and trade companies as it helps to understand consumers’ needs and behaviours, by which a more right insight and strategies can be develop when dealing with consumers. With growing importance to service sector especially in Turkey this research is undertaken to analysis in-depth the social media role in influencing consumers when they choose between service providers companies in Turkey. By using conjoint analysis, which is generally preferred when dealing with consumers to the given stimulation that most near to reality and its flexibility, we aimed to contribute to related literature and also support firms in having the best strategies while using social media to maintain and win new customers, there for data was collected from respondents over our selected attributes with its levels.  The findings conclude that there is a positive relationship between the fast response, useful of content and number of likes and shares with consumer’s positive attitudes. Additionally, the impact of those influencers slightly differs according to some demographic criteria like gender, age and employment status but does not present any significant difference.

Abstract:The general objective of this study was to investigate effect of positioning strategies on the performance of private schools in Garissa Township. The study has four specific research objectives which are:to establish the effect of technological innovation on the performance of private schools in Garissa Township; to determine the effect of brand equity on the performance of private schools in Garissa Township; to examine how strategic alliances affect the performance of private schools in Garissa Township and finally to assess how product reengineering affect the performance of private schools in Garissa Township. The methodology of the paper is a research that is descriptive in nature. This study was descriptive in nature and the researcher will use case study method. Secondary data collected from such a population or census will be more reliable. The target population of this study was the private schools in Garissa Township.This means that the staffs working at will be the target population of the research study.The study used a purposive sampling approach in selecting the study area of study and simple random sampling to select respondents drawn from the private schools in Garissa Township.The researcher will use questionnaires and secondary data as the research instrument to gather the relevant information needed related to the study. The data collected was analyzed was quantitative methods, applying descriptive statistical methods to manipulate it and present the findings in percentages in figures and tables. The findings indicated that the four strategic positioning practices that are product re-engineering, trademark equity, technological change and strategic alliances have a positive and significant effect on the performance of private schools.The investigation recommends private schools to practice more of technological change. This is because an increase in technological change improves performance significantly. Some of the ways of doing that are by the adoption of online services, ICT infrastructure and innovation. The investigation further recommends private schools to improve their trademark equity more. This is because an increase in trademark equity improves performance significantly. Some of the ways of doing that are by improving the corporate image, customer’s loyalty and negotiating power of the organization. Another recommendation by the investigation is that private schools need to focus more on strategic alliances. This is because an improvement in strategic alliances leads to a significant improvement in performance. This can be achieved through enhancing partnership, synergy development and outsourcing. To the private schools, the study lastly recommends an improvement in product re-engineering practices.This is because an improvement in product reengineering leads to a significant improvement in the performance of private schools.This can be done by launching new products, improving the existing products and change management leads to a significant improvement in the performance of private schools.

Abstract:Contract management practice comprise of all the activities involved in the drafting, review, revision, and analysis of contracts, and the implementation of systems and use of software that are designed to enhance accurate tracking and keeping of records relating to satisfaction of contractual terms. Nevertheless, contract management is sensible if it makes a positive impact on the County government in terms of procurement performance. The general objective of this study was to determine the influence ofcontract management practices on procurement performance of County Government in Kenya. The study was guided by the following objectives: to establish the effect of contract monitoring on the procurement performance of County Government in Kenya; to determine the effect of managerial capacity on the procurement performance of County Government in Kenya; to find out the effect of contract relationship on the procurement performance of County Government in Kenya and finally to investigate the effect of contract planning on the procurement performance of County Government in Kenya. The conceptual scope of this study was limited to four contract management practices namely contract monitoring, managerial capacity, contract relationship and contract planning. This study targeted staff of Garissa County and composed of senior staff management, middle level staff management and operational staff. The study employed descriptive survey design. The researcher used questionnaires as research instruments to collect data to the study. The study adoptedboth primary and secondary data analysisresearch design. Primary data will be collected using semi structured questionnaires containing both closed and open ended questions to allow variety. The quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. In addition the study used multiple regression analysis to analyze the data. This study concluded that contract monitoring significantly and positively influenced procurement performance of County Government in Kenya.The study further concluded that managerial capacity has a significant and a positive effect on infrastructure projects in Kitui County. The study also concluded that contract relationship had significant and a positive effect on procurement performance of County Government in Kenya. The study finally concluded that Contract planning had a significant and positive effect on the procurement performance of County Government in Kenya. The study recommends that County Government should put in place control and monitoring management strategies. It is also recommended that the capacity of technical staff be developed through training so as to fully understand and accurately implement provisions of the contract. Stringent procurement performance measures should also be provided within contract clauses so that intentionally erring officials are adequately punished. The study also recommended that County Governments in the country should make a deliberate effort to involve all relevant stakeholders during the project process up to closure so that projects are owned by them and sustainability plans can be easily made and implemented. Finally, It was recommended that the County Governments develop a full and comprehensive contract portfolio of the contract needs of the organisation before embarking onto any contract activity.

Abstract:Adoption of strategic planning enables SMEs to perform better and enables them achieve high profits, increased customer referrals due to satisfaction, increased sales, well structured survival plans, high innovation levels, high quality products, improved products, enhanced processes, high technological levels, enhanced management practices as well as increased international growth rates all these benefits are not enjoyed by SMEs operating in Nakuru Town since most of them fails during the first few years of operations.  The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effects of adoption of strategic planning on profitability of Small and Medium Size Enterprises. A descriptive and inferential survey research design was applied where data collection was done by use of self administered structured questionnaires. Stratified random sampling method was used to select 291 businesses from a total of 1064 SMEs operating in Nakuru. The study used both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The study recommends that SMEs managers and owners should ensure that the key resources such as the manpower, money, machines, materials and proper working methods are availed in their enterprise since inadequate resources are likely to lead to incomplete adoption of strategic plans in the enterprise. The study recommends that SMEs should adopt leadership styles that will encourage staff participation in long term planning decisions. The study also recommends that the entrepreneurs should seek and employ highly trained and competent managers to oversee the operations of their enterprises. Highly trained and qualified managers are able to competently plan in the long term to ensure enhanced enterprise performance in organizations.

Abstract:This study is on dividends policy and its impact on performance of quoted Nigerian Deposit Money Banks. The study sought to evaluate the impact of dividends policy on the profitability of Nigerian deposit money banks quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.  The study is predicated on the dividends signalling theory, residual theory of dividends and stakeholder’s theory. Data were obtained from annual reports of the quoted deposit money banks in Nigeria. The multiple regression i.e. Ordinary Least Square (OLS) was used to test how dividends policy affects the performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria. The result shows that dividends policy significantly influences financial performance of deposit money banks measured by return on asset (ROA). This can also be explained to mean that dividends policy in deposit money banks has a significant impact on the returns gotten from total assets. The study concluded that dividends policy exerts a significant influence on the performance of quoted deposit money banks in Nigeria between the periods specified. The study then recommends that Banks should pay attention to their dividends pay-out ratio in order to maintain and sustain their shareholders and attract prospective investors.

Abstract:The general objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of corporate restructuring on financial performance of Saccos in Kenya.The study was limited to the following specific objevtives:to find out the effect of capital restructuring on the financial performance of Sacco’s n Kenya;to establish how asset restructuring affect the financial performance of Sacco’s in Kenya and finally to find out how operational affect the financial performance of Sacco’s in Kenya.The target population for this study consisted of all SACCOS in Kiambu County licensed as at December, 2015 by Ministry of Trade, industry and Co-operatives and the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA). A total population of 35 SACCOS was studied. Using descriptive research design, a total of 35 managerial staff members from the 35 SACCOswere targeted by way of completing a structured questionnaire. Primary and secondary data was collected. Secondary data was collected from SACCOS’ financial statements and other financial records using document review guide. Data was processed and then analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis.The study concluded that capital restructuring had a positive but significant effect on financial performance of SACCOS in Kenya.The study further concluded that Asset restructuring had a negative but significant effect on financial performance of SACCOS in Kenya.The study also concluded that asset restructuring had a negative but significant effect on financial performance of SACCOS in Kenya.The study recommends that for SACCOS in Kiambu County to continuously improve financial performance, SACCOS need to continuously restructure their operations by increasing their branches, widening their ATM network and emphasis on agency and mobile banking.The study also recommends that SACCOS in Kiambu County should reduce their increase collection period in order to improve their financial performance.The study finally recommends that for SACCOS in Kiambu County to improve their financial performance, they is need to improve their operations through improved processes, institutional capacity building and institutional innovation, as well as coming up with new products and services to increase their market share and therefore capture a wider customer base. This only explains outreach but also enhances financial inclusion.

Abstract:The general objectives of this project was to evaluate the determinant of procurement law compliance in public institutions in Kenya in the context of National Youth Service. The study was guided by the following specific objectives: procurement ethics, staff training, staff competency and top management support. The major theories that the study coveded included Ethics Based Theory, Competency Theory,Resource Based View and Ladder of Participation Theory. The study used descriptive design because it enhanced systematic description that was as accurate, valid and reliable as possible regarding the responses. This population comprised of 200 respondents that was drawn from procurement, finance and members of the tender committee. The officers included in the study were senior finance officer, the senior procurement officer, procurement officers, receiving clerks and store clerks. This study utilized a sample size of 60.The use of 60 respondents in the study was justified as it was in line with the recommendations of Mugenda and Mugenda (2009) who indicated that a descriptive study should include at least 30% of the total population. Since the sample size of 60 will represent 30% of the population it was deemed appropriate. The researcher used questionnaires and secondary data as the research instrument to gather the relevant information needed related to the study. The study involved use of professionals and experts to test the validity of questionnaire by trying to assess what concept the instrument was trying to measure and the accuracy of representation of the concept under research. The quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. In addition the study used multiple regression analysis to analyze the data

Abstract:The aim of the study was to find out the factors influencing adoption of sustainable procurement practices in the energy sector particularly oil and gas sector in Kenya. The specific objectives of the study were to examine the effects of resource capacity, legal & regulatory framework, supplier participation and management commitment. The study used a target population of 150 employees from the procurement department while the sample size of 45 employees was determined by 30%, since it has been argued that such a sample size is adequate for a descriptive survey study (Patton, 2002). Stratified random sampling technique was also used to select respondents in the study population since it ensured that all the respondents had an equal and unbiased chance of participating in the study. A descriptive research design as well as use of questionnaires was also used in order to acquire the findings.Quantitative data was analyzed using tally sheet and presented by use of tables. In addition the study used multiple regression analysis to analyze the data.Regarding resource capacity, the study indicates that resource capacity significantly and positively influenced on the implementation of sustainable procurement in oil and gas sector in Kenya.The study further concluded that legal & regulatory framework have a significant and a positive effect on the implementation of sustainable procurement in oil and gas sector in Kenya.The study further concluded that supplier participation had significant and a positive effect on the implementation of sustainable procurement in oil and gas sector in Kenya.The study finally  concluded that management commitment had a significant and positive effect on the implementation of sustainable procurement in oil and gas sector in Kenya.

Abstract:The General objective of this research was to assess the effects of effect of corporate governance on finance performance of commercial banks in Kenya. The specific objectives of this project were to establish the effect of board diversity, board independence, board size and ownership on financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya. The study adopted secondary data analysis research design. The observations used dated from January the year 2014 to December 2018 and includes 48 monthly observations. The population composed of all the commercial banks in Kenya. The data was obtained from Kenya National Bureau of statistics, the central bank and audited financial statements of individual banks. Correlation and multiple regressions were employed as the analytical tools. The study was driven by the absence of laborious studies that address the dynamics of the financial performance in commercial banks in Kenya. The research is also motivated by the mixed results that various previous researchers got for the same types of the variables. The study also helps other researchers as a source of reference and as a stepping stone for those who want to make further study on the area afterwards. It also contributes to the understanding and stabilization of the financial sector of the economy and the society as a whole. It will also give all stakeholders in the sector an opportunity to gain deep. From the findings on the effects of Board Size on the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya, the study found that various aspects of board size affect the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya to a great extent. From the regression analysis, board size was found to positively affect the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya. On the effects of board diversity on the financing performance of commercial banks in Kenya, the study established that various aspects of composition of the board affect the financial performance to a great extent. The study thus concludes that board diversity positively influence the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya. From the findings on effects of ownership on the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya, the study found that various aspect of ownership positively influenced the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya to great extent. Thus the study concludes that separation of the role of CEO and Chair positively influenced the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya. Finally, from the findings on effects of board independence on the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya, the study established that board independence of the firm positively influenced the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya. The study thus concludes that board independence of the firm positively influenced the financial performance of commercial banks in Kenya.

Abstract:Public procurement in Kenya has proved to be long, cumbersome and a time consuming affair. The public procurement system has several deficiencies that contribute to huge losses in public funds, moreover; it has also proved to be costly for both buyer and supplier or organizations, besides being regarded as a perpetrator of corruption. However, the introduction of e-procurement by the government is intended to meet the basic principles of good governance: transparency, accountability, and integrity in public procurement in Kenya. Therefore, this study aimed at establishing the procurement challenges influencing implementation of electronic procurement among counties in the North Eastern region. The study was guided by the following specific objectives: to determine the influence of training and development in the implementation of e-procurement; to examine the influence of technological infrastructure in the implementation of e-procurement; to analyze the influence of top management commitment in the implementation of e-procurement and finally; to determine the influence of suppliers’ capacity in implementation of e-procurement among counties in the North Eastern region. The theories that was used for the study are innovation diffusion theory, human service delivery theory, technology acceptance theory and information system success theory. To realize this objective, a survey research design was adopted. The target population of the study constituted Mandera, Wajir and Garissa county in the department of procurement, ICT, accounting/finance and administrative / public service department from which the target population was 280 respondents with a sample size of 140 respondents. The study used stratified sampling which constitutes 50% of the target population. Primary data was collected from staff members and heads of procurement, ICT, accounting/finance and administrative / public service departments using a combination of questionnaires and structured interviews. A fact sheet was used to summarize the data collected before analysing using (SPSS) to obtain descriptive statistics; data collected was presented in the form of frequency tables. Regarding technological infrastructure, the study confirms that technological infrastructure, affect implementation of electronic procurement of counties in the north eastern region given by multiple linear regression model which revealed that technological infrastructure is significantly and positively affect implementation of electronic procurement of counties and thus for every unit increase in technological infrastructure enahnces the implementation of electronic procurement of counties. The study further established that training and development had a significant and positive effect on the implementation of electronic procurement of counties in the north eastern region. The study also established that top management commitment had significant and a positive effect on the implementation of electronic procurement of counties in the north eastern region. The study finally established that suppliers’ capacity had significant and a positive effect on the implementation of electronic procurement of counties in the north eastern region.

Abstract:The success of MFIs in Kenya largely depends on the effectiveness of their credit management systems because these institutions generate most of their income from interest earned on loans extended to small and medium entrepreneurs. This study investigated on the effect of credit risk management on loan performance of deposit taking Microfinance institutions in Nairobi County, Kenya. Modern portfolio theory, agency theory and asymmetric information theory were used to inform the study. The study adopted a descriptive research design and all 13 deposit-taking microfinance institutions in Nairobi were the targeted population. A sample of 118 microfinance staffs derived from Krejcie and Morgan (1970) strategy. Both secondary and primary information was gathered. Primary information was gathered by use of structured questionnaires addressing the independent variables while the secondary information was assembled from the financial reports of the Microfinance institutions on loan performance for five years (2014 - 2018). The data gathered was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Multiple linear regressions was used to show the relationship between the variables. The study established that microfinance institutions in Nairobi asks for collateral when giving loans and they also consider the past track record of repayment of the client. Regression results revealed that a change in credit appraisals processes holding all the other factors constant leads to positive change on loans performance of microfinance institutions. The study also revealed that credit risk control has significance and positive influence on loan performance of microfinance institutions. Further it was revealed that most micro finance have accredit committee and a lender approval limit for loans. Prediction by regression model revealed that credit terms has a significance influence on loan performance of microfinance institutions. Finally the study established that a change in credit approvals while holding all the other factors constant would affect loans performance of microfinance institutions. Grounded on the study findings, it is recommended that micro-finance institutions need to enhance their methodologies of identifying risk from credit, analysis and assessment of risk arising from credits, proper monitoring of credit offered to clients and credit approval to improve on their loan portfolio. Owing to the current study findings the researcher proposes further studies on an examination of the relationship between credit risk management and loans performance in the banking industry as whole so as to compare the results and a study on the strategic credit risk management practices by banking institutions on loan performance.

Abstract:The main aim of this study was to establish the effect of strategic management practices on organizational performance of state corporations in Kenya, using Kenya power as the case study. Basic specific objectives surrounds; strategic human resources management, strategic technology and innovation, strategic leadership management, strategic outsourcing management. The study used descriptive research design where stratified random sampling was considered in drawing the sample size from the main target population which was intended to be 250 employees working in the organization; data was collected through the use questionnaires, after which analysis was done through the use of statistical packages for social sciences, finding was presented in forms of tables, bar graphs and charts. The study concluded that strategic human resource management, leadership, strategic technology and innovation and strategic outsourcing affected organizational performance of Kenya power limited. Furthermore indication of the results showed that strategic human resource management influenced organizational performance to a great extent since this it stipulates high level of professionalism which is the basic requirement of all employees in any organization becomes the first motivating factor in performing jobs assigned to any employee, it also determines whether an employee has the capacity to perform a job hence a significant factor in organizational performance. The study further affirms that strategic leadership has an impact on organizational performance; this has been seen with the influence of the supervisor and the powers bestowed on him or her, supervisors assistance motivates the employees they supervise hence enable them perform well in their work stations but their mistreatment can anger the employees and demoralize them. Strategic technology and innovation has also been found closely related to organizational performance; this because new skills and knowledge and high level of creativity are necessary in the current job market. The study finally concludes that strategic outsourcing affected organizational performance, only that outsourcing should be based on the time, nature of service and product, cost, interest of the organization and policies regarding outsourcing activities. The researcher recommends strategic human resource practices and would require that organization should consider professionals in their hiring for long term performance and development, practice capacity building in regard to strategic human resource management and as well  provider a considerate remuneration which is fair and just for all employees in an organization. The study also recommends the use of different leadership skills when handling employees since the exhaustive use of the same leadership type may not help much since they may only apply in different situations. The study finally recommends strong analysis and evaluation on outsourcing business that any organization intends to undertake , it must viable for an organization to venture into, since it takes on a number of dimensions such as going global assessing the risks involved is necessary at all times. Outsourcing should add value to the organization.

Abstract:The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of strategic management practices on the performance of Non-Governmental Organizations in Kenya, a case of Kisumu County. The specific objectives of the study were to establish the effect of strategic decision making practices, strategic evaluation practices, strategic implementation practices and strategic planning practices on the performance of NGO’s in Kenya. Four theories were used including competitive advantage theory, strategic fit theory, theory of resource dependency and stakeholder theory. The target population was 200 managers working in all NGOs in Kisumu County. The study adopted quantitative research design. Data was be collected through questionnaires. Data was analysed and interpreted through descriptive statistics, measures of dispersion and inferential statistics. The main purpose of the study was to bridge the gap on strategic management practices. It is important that NGOs take advantage of the funding they receive and be able to transform the lives of the communities they serve.

Abstract:Financial inclusion is an important issue due to high numbers of people not banking in developing countries. The use of mobile phones makes access to financial services easier to the consumers and in return reducing the operation costs of the financial institutions. The financial sector in Kenya has heavily continued to invest in mobile related technology innovations and manpower trainings to cover the skills gap that might be experienced. The growing investment in mobile technology and bank financial inclusion in Kenya needs various studies to establish how mobile banking financial inclusion has impacted on commercial banks from various counties. The study was done in West Pokot County. The main aim of the study was to examine the effect of mobile banking financial inclusion on the performance of commercial Banks. The specific objectives are; establishing the effects of network distribution and mobile money services enrolments on the performance of commercial banks. Assessing the effects of the number of mobile banking transactions on performance of commercial banks. Finding out whether mobile banking services and products meet the needs of the consumers and finally assessing the value of mobile money transaction and performance of commercial banks. The study adopted a descriptive research design. The target population included all 157 staffs in the 6 commercial banks. The study collected primary data by use of structured questionnaires. Questionnaires were administered by the drop-off and pick-up later method. Descriptive analysis was used to draw important conclusions and deductions with regards to the study objectives. Multiple regression analysis was done to assess the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variables. Data was presented in form of table, graphs, figures and pie chart forms. The results of the study revealed that financial inclusion through the specific objectives of the study that is network distribution and mobile money services enrolments, mobile banking services and products and the value of mobile money transaction significantly affected performance of commercial banks because most if not all respondents agreed with the questions asked while the number of mobile banking transactions didn’t affect the performance of commercial banks. The study concluded that network distribution and mobile money services enrolments significantly affected performance of commercial banks. The enrolment of new mobile agents in the region led to increased number of mobile subscribers thus more bank customers through mobile banking. Mobile banking services and products significantly affected performance of commercial banks.The provision of diversified loan products have improved the banks’ loan books. Value of mobile money transaction significantly affected performance of commercial banks. Banks have experienced increased deposits. Saving rate of locals has increased. The number of mobile banking transactions didn’t affect the performance of commercial banks. Deposits significantly influenced performance of commercial banks. Diversified financial service offering has increased the number of customers in our Bank. The study recommends that communication authority of Kenya should provide conducive regulatory environment that facilitates network distribution. Commercial banks in Kenya should enhance the rate at which customers’ access loans as this would significantly result into enhanced performance. The Central Bank of Kenya should formulate sound monetary policies that increase accessibility to credit and this shall improve living standards of locals in an economy.

Abstract:Poverty is a wide-reaching phenomenon that affects almost all countries of the world, both developed and developing countries. However, poverty is much more prevalent in developing countries like Kenya and women are the worse affected due to their susceptibility.  Assessing the performance of poverty reduction strategies is indispensable to know which strategies are effective and efficient in reducing poverty. Therefore, this study will assess the performance of poverty reduction strategies in Kwanza sub-county. The study aimed at achieving the following objectives: to determine the limitations of poverty reduction strategies being used in to Kwanza Sub-county, to identify the main poverty reduction strategies that are in use in Kwanza sub-county, and, to identify the causes of poverty in Kwanza sub- county. The study employed both primary and secondary sources of data. Sample of 100 respondents were selected, and Descriptive statistics and chi square was used to analyze the data and test the hypotheses. Pilot study was conducted in hospital ward in Kiminini sub-county ward to test the reliability of the research instruments prior to the study. Data was collected was presented in tables and pie charts. From the findings of the study it was established that people in Kwanza sub-county have access to public utilities. Also, people have access to electricity and to water supply. But the condition of the roads is not good. In addition people lack access to financial resources the study further revealed that security is good in Kwanza sub-county and there is enough market for people to sell their products. However the study noted that people lack access to quality inputs in agriculture.  The study found out that bursary funds are provided to the needy students. But majority of the people doubt on whether people are supported by the sub-county to practice agribusiness. The study further established that markets have been constructed for people to sell their products easily. But health facilities are not enough to residents of Kwanza sub-county. On the other hand, the roads have been improved to ease transportation and clean water is provided to people by the sub-county. Security is also provided by the sub-county. And enough schools have been built for people and the non-governmental organizations help in reducing poverty.  However, the study found out that poverty reduction initiatives have not been successful and poverty reduction strategies are inadequate. Finally the study established that poverty reduction initiatives have failed and there is no effective governance that can reduce poverty. The study found out that non-participation of citizens in development projects promotes poverty and that corruption leads to increase in poverty while agribusiness can reduce poverty. The study further revealed that people developing skills in art and craft can and improved security can reduce poverty. Finally, access to financial resources and to education can reduce poverty.

Abstract:The operations of tea factories have a damning influence on the source of revenue of over 560,000 tea farmers in Kenya who deliver green leaf to tea factories. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of operational efficiency on tea factories project performance in Trans Nzoia County. This study was thus geared towards evaluating how operational efficiency during projects implementation and running the factories projects influence tea factories project performance in Trans-Nzoia County. The study was guided by Stakeholder Theory and Constraint Theory. The study used mixed methodology and descriptive research design. A pilot test was done in Chebut Tea Factory in Nandi County which falls outside the researchers’ scope of research area. The target population was 90 employees of Kapsara and Elgon tea and the same number as the sample given. This was a census study. Data was collected using structured questionnaires, interviews and document analysis. Once ascertained, data duly collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 21. The study showed that Operationalefficiency has positive relationship on tea factories project performance. The r value was 0.911 which is relative strong at 2 tailed significance of 0.000 which is below 0.01 significant levels. The results emanating from this research are of benefit to all project managers in tea factories and also line managers who will enhance the application of these findings to boost the performance of factory operations and furthermore boost returns to shareholders.

Abstract:One of the objects of devolution is to devolve both power and economic resources closer to the people and for this to be felt by the citizens, effective public financial management practices are required. Despite the improved legislative and institutional framework on public finance management in the last six years, county governments continue to experience myriad challenges that are not in line with the expected global standard practices thus leading to low quality in service delivery. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of strategic financial planning and budgeting practices on the performance of Bomet County Government. The study used descriptive research design where purposive sampling technique was used to sample 60 respondents out of the target population of 70 respondents where 51 response was received translating to 85% response rate. The respondents were County Executive Committee Members (CECMs/Ministers), Chief Officers, Directors and finance officers from the ten departments of Bomet county government. Primary data was collected using structured questionnaires which were self-administered to the sampled respondents. Statistical Package for Social Science Version 21 was used to analyze quantitative data. The study found out that Bomet County utilized County Integrated Development Plan as its primary planning document for all the projects and programmes. In addition, despite the existence of the devolved funds, internal inefficiencies in its management have made the county not to achieve the desired results.

Abstract:Food crop production by smallholder farmers has encountered various challenges of which climate change (CC), pests and diseases are the most important. Global quest for enhancement of food security and reduction of poverty is evident as it is enshrined in policy statements such as the Green Revolution, Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Overreliance on one type of food crop worsens the impact of CC on food security. Practicing diversification through production and utilization of alternative food crops is one of the key climate-smart strategies to mitigate risks from CC, pests and diseases. This study explored diversification in the food crop subsector, an area that has not been ventured by other researchers who majorly focused on diversification to the horticulture subsector. This has therefore bridged the information gap in this area thus providing information necessary for decision making, planning and development of strategies towards self food sufficiency in the county and beyond. This study used cross-sectional survey and descriptive research designs. Stratified random sampling was used to sample three hundred and forty one (341) smallholder maize farmers in Sotik, Bomet East and Chepalungu Sub-counties from a target population of three thousand and ninety four (3094) maize farmers. Fifteen (15) ward extension officers were also targeted. Primary data was collected using a questionnaire for the maize farmers while an interview schedule was used for the extension staff. Secondary information was also obtained from the Agriculture directorate in the county. The pattern of diversification was deduced from the tabulated records of food crops grown in the area of study within the cropping year in consideration of the three previous years of production. Results from the study indicated that the maize farmers were moderately diversified on food production with a CDI of 0.4974. Socio-economic factors that influence food crop diversification included civil status of the household head, Age, Experience in farming and farm size. Gender on the other hand had a negative impact meaning female farmers were more diversified in food crop production than male farmers.

Abstract:The purpose of this research project was to analyze the influence of Hygienic factors on organizational performance for middle level managers at Kenya Commercial Banks in Kitale town with the following objective being toiassess the effect of employee morale on organizational performance. The study adopted a descriptive survey design as it is concerned with describing the characteristics and behavior of the public sector employees with regards to hygienic factors and the general organizational performance. The total target population of the study were employees of Commercial Banks in Kitale town. The total population was 283 employees comprising of middle level managers across departments with the sample size 128 employees..iThe stratified sampling technique is used to identify subgroups in the population and their proportions sub groups to form a sample to ensure equitable representation of the population in the sample.  Both primary and secondary sources: Questionnaires was designed and pretested to see whether they can collect the necessary data to achieve the predetermined objectives of the study. The questionnaires were piloted using small sample of between 5-12 employees of Kenya Commercial banks in Kitaletown, the purpose for this was to detect any errors while using the structured questionnaires.piloting was done to test the validity and reliability of the research nstrument. Multiple regression was used to determine the variables n data analysis.Based on these findings the employee’s morale does not have a significant effect on organizational Performance at Kenya Commercial Banks, Kitale town. Therefore, Employee’s morale do have a significant effect on organizational Performance at Kenya Commercial Banks, Kitale town. The study recommended that KCB bank should introduce a rigorous training is required for the bank employee for handling computerized transactions. They should provide opportunity for beneficial job related training to render employee satisfaction with the evaluation process in organisation. Promotional opportunities should be taken into consideration to enable employee motivation to boost their morale to work and also handle employees in a fairly and equitably. They should also provide a strong support and commitment and appreciation to the employees for the job they perform. Management should be interested to manage performance of employees consistently and to improve productivity of every employee in the organization. iThey should also appraise their employees and offer a conducive working environment, train their employees for more knowledge and skills, compensate favourably their employees.  The study was significant because the human labour contributes to 80% of the Institutions income and that the more knowledge on managing hygienic factors will go a long way in assisting other institutions in managing the performance of their organizations.

Abstract:To establish the factors influencing the success of construction projects in Kenya; gated community projects in Nairobi City County.
Methodology: This study employed descriptive research design. The design was suitable for the study because itdescribed the situation regarding the success of construction projects in Kenya; gated community projects in Nairobi City County.  A target population of 95 developers from Kenya Property developers Association was identified from which a sample size of 88 was selected throughStratified random sampling technique. Structured questionnaires containing both open and closed ended questions was used to collect data from the identified respondents and they were administered physically. Multiple linear regression was done to establish the influence of independent variables that is; planning, monitoring, shareholders participation and construction technologyon dependent variable.
Results: Taking  all factors (Project planning, project monitoring, construction technology and stakeholders participation) constant at zero, the overall Success of Construction Projects in Gated Community projects in Nairobi City County will be 5.674. The data findings also show that a unit increase in project planning will lead to a 0.332 increase in  Success of Construction Projects in Gated Community projects; a unit increase project monitoring will lead to a 0.376 increase in Success of Construction Projects in Gated Community projects; a unit increase in construction technology, will lead to a 0.355 increases in Success of Construction Projects in Gated Community projects .Aunit increase in stakeholders participation will lead to a 0.398  increase in Success of Construction Projects in Gated Community projects in Nairobi City County.
UniqueContribution to theory, practice and policy The study recommends that project team must ensure that the work progresses is well scheduled since Project monitoring is the process of keeping track of all project related metrics including team performance. On project technology the study recommends that technology systems should be fully implemented as it increases success of construction of gated community projects in Nairobi City County Kenya. on Stakeholder participation the study recommends that the stakeholders should be engaged as this will greatly minimize the problems that could arise during project implementation or after. The list of stakeholders can be very large in a project. In construction of gated community projects, key stakeholders include the project sponsor, the consultants, the contractor, subcontractors and suppliers, end users, and government agencies concerned with regulation.

Abstract:The value relevance of comprehensive income and other comprehensive income components has examined in order to demonstrate that the explicit disclosure of comprehensive income, which came under the IAS 1 (revised 2007) improved the value of accounting information from the point of view of investors for use in decision making and whether Reflecting the economic conditions and changes of the company compared to net income. This study was based on solid research models on the relevant value and predictive capacity of the other comprehensive income and was based on statistical models developed by (Fasan et al. 2014), (Mechelli and Cimini 2014), (He and Lin 2015), (Günther 2015), which are based on the theories and concepts in this study. Thus, this study provides empirical analysis of the relevant value by looking at the correlation between market values and comparative figures and looking at the correlation between comprehensive income and other comprehensive income components with share prices and returns on equity and provides whether other comprehensive income provides the ability to predict net income Future and future cash flows. A sample of 27 Palestinian public shareholding companies was used between 2005 and 2018. The manual method of collecting these data was used through the annual financial statements and the financial statements disclosed by the companies for the period mentioned, in order to examine whether the comprehensive income is more value-relevance than net income.

Abstract:The study examines firm ownership and investment in human capital of multinational corporations in Nigeria. The objective of the study is to examine the effect of firm ownership, ownership identity, investment in human capital and firm size on multinational corporation performance. The sample population of this study is made up of eleven (11) quoted companies in Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) as at 31 December, 2018 that possessed the status of Multinational Corporations for six consecutive years (2013-2018). The study used descriptive statistic, Pearson correlation matrix, Variance Inflation Factor, Heteroskedasticity test and employed ordinary least square regression technique to test the formulated hypotheses The ordinary least square regression results show that firm ownership has a significant negative effect on multinational corporation performance, ownership identity has insignificant negative effect on multinational corporation performance and investment in human capital of multinational corporation has insignificant positive effect on multinational corporation performance while firm size has a significant positive effect on multinational corporation performance. The study recommends that management of multinational corporations in Nigeria should consider the presence of firm ownership because of its negative effect on performance and also recommends that relevant stakeholders of multinational corporations should show strong commitment to the development of human capital because it would enhance the performance of the multinational corporations in the long-run.

Abstract:Service delivery is critical to ensuring the country’s wellbeing, citizens satisfactory and development whether economic, social or political depends on how efficient are the services provided. Better service delivery always begins with better procurement process. This is because government departments can only take appropriate action and make correct decisions if they have sufficient information about process at their fingertips. Staff training is a prerequisite for globally competitive organizations. The purpose of the study was to analyze staff training on service delivery at MTRH. The current study was underpinned under the Cognitive Theory. The researcher used descriptive research design. The accessible population for the study was 120 employees of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. The researcher used the structured questionnaire to collect the primary data desirable for the study. Pre testing of the questionnaires were conducted to establish its validity and reliability. Data was analyzed by use of descriptive and inferential statistics through the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24. Descriptive statistics includes; percentages, frequencies, measures of central tendencies (mean) and measures of dispersion (standard deviation). Inferential statistics applied by the researcher in data analysis were the multiple regression models and the Pearson correlation analysis. The study results indicated that staff training has a positive significant influence on service delivery at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. (β4= 0.138, p=0.018<0.05). The study concluded that skills and expertise enhance record systems and Record management is properly done. When an organization conducts induction to employees, motivates their employees and ensure that there are enough personnel in the organization service delivery `improves. Suppliers should develop competent technical abilities so as to provide high quality products or services.
